Harley Davidson to release an Electric Motorcycle

I'm surprised by how good the design/styling is.

The whole front end of the bike is really clean and well done…

Also the rear hugger/mudguard/license plate holder. Functional and it cleans up the whole back end... even if this bike doesn't go into production that's something that other manufacturers are going to (and should) copy.

Wait, What the Hell? Real engineers did the design...So Who did Harley farm the design out to?

the rear of the bike looks very Buell like! they should of put the ZTL front brake on it!

It isn't coming yet. It isn't even breathing hard.

Well that's not quite true...

The Project LiveWire Experience begins a 30-city tour across America starting June 24th in New York City, where riders will be invited to take a historic ride. The first few stops have been announced below and the full 2014 US tour schedule will be announced in the next week.

Ah but my statement is still true. When are these slated to come off the line and be available for sale? Yup, not even breathing hard yet.

I would, however, LOVE to get a chance to ride one of these. I will be adding an ebike to the stable in the next few years, and it would be cool if it were a Harley. :thumbup

I think if I were to add an ebike, I'd go for a Zero. They're local and I won't have to talk to Harley riders.

Like any H-D riders are going to talk to someone on an electric Harley. Please. :laughing

all the joking about noise aside, I repeat my belief that there'll be a HUGE markets for e-vehicle sounds soon

like cell phone rings & other purchaseable "personalized" sounds

I remain surprised the the oh-so-quiet e-car market hasn't acted on this obvious idea.......

I think electric cars are viewed even more so as an applicance than other cars.

For motorcycles, however, I think there is a greater chance of something like what you're talking about happening. Especially with Harley.

This makes me happy.

Aaron, I too will be on an Ebike as soon as they can get 180 mile range (highway) and 30-45min charging time. Until then, I'll keep burning gasoline and unicorn tears.

My requirements aren't nearly so steep, but I do need a bit more than the current offerings have.
