Harley Street Rod 750

That's what they said about the W650. :twofinger It would be cool, but the sales numbers would be low, for certain.

This would be a modern, high-performance standard based on the FTR750 platform, not a clunky, slow retro-bike.

And it would still sell in puny numbers. Plus, to get that $50k race bike down into the $10k range, it would have to be seriously dumbed down. It wouldn't be anything like that.

considering that street 750 is the basis for the factory hd flattrack effort, there might be some trickle down performance parts.cool looking bike, like to see one at the dealer.

The Indian Scout gets rave reviews and looks the part, but if I had to go low end cruiser, I'd go Yamanail Bolt R Spec. $8,400 + whatever.....the bike looks better IRL than in pictures. For a classic, I'd stick with a Triumph.

in order to survive - this bike feels like a necessity and a smart move for them - particularly at the price point.

Do they involve to a scrambler after this depends on how far they can stretch the brand without pissing off their base.

I must be getting old, I'm groovin' on the new Road King... probably swap the handlebars, though....

What you guys want is either a used xb12s or a Ducats Scrambler?

I like a couple of models in the Ducati Scramble line, but I have Monster 796 so it's redundant. But, the Super Sport............. :drool

If Indian builds a street tracker/standard-style bike that's under $10,000 and makes 70-90 hp, they'll have a huge success.

If it looks like the xr1200, hell, I might buy one.

If this was 2001, I'd agree with you, but manufacture and design have come a long way. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

If they made a street version of this that was badass I would drop large coin to have one. Best looking Indian ever.

It looks like HD is looking to stay relevent and widen their customer base. I just thought the street 500 and 750 were really cheep and cheesy when compared to the rest of the line. We will see.

One of the Indian honchos did elude to making a street version of this in the future. I read that on motorcycle.com awhile back.

No, sorry, I'm well aware of manufacturing. A $10k bike will be not like that race bike.

But, let's say they could do it. It would be awesome. Lots of people would like it. And it wouldn't well. It would be better off being a $15k bike. May as well make it nicer and have a better margin, cuz EAV will be low.

No, these are meant for India. But they fill a beginner niche here as well.

The cheap & cheesy stuff was designed for India and is built there for that market, to avoid tariffs. US bikes are built in Kansas City. This motor is rumored to be the replacement to XR750, so this remake is testing the consumer market for acceptance?

That would be super hard to pull off that attitude with a V-Rod. If I had something more traditional like a Dyna or whatever. Ain't no one percenters riding around a Harley with a radiator.

Actually....... there was a local 81 guy than ran on a V-rod. :cool

Years ago we had a sales guy that was good friends with an old school HA. The HA had his Harley and a Busa. Sales guy would go riding with him and HA guy would wear his shit, ride his Busa and wave at every person they saw on a bike. He said they got a lot of second looks. :laughing
