Hip Hop: What the Hell Happened??!

I mean, if you dig their sound, that isn't necessarily bad, right? Maynard's voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me, so I cannot stand them, but if you dig it, more of what you dig is not bad, right? You don't want them to do an Apop on you and turn into a doucheband out of nowhere.

Of course not. But the raw rock sound they used to have on the first two albums and the EP is just just gone now...at least it seems that way to me. :dunno

Just like my girl, Nicki. I feel like she just isn't naked in videos like she used to.

Undertow came out in 1993. I can’t knock a band for not having the same sound 25 years later.

I think they’ve grown tremendously as musicians and songwriters tho 10,000 Days and Fear kinda run into each other. I think they peaked technically with 10,000 Days.

I dunno, I like Tool quite a lot and they are super talented but some of the real fanatics I know are goobers and just think it’s “deep” or “trippy” but I don’t think fully grasp the technical aspect of the music.

I think they are a bit of an anomaly as they probably shouldn’t be as popular as they are.

Saw them in concert and while the music was fantastic, the visuals were dated. NIN is like 15 years ahead of them in that regard.

The crowd was surprisingly full of douchebag frat boys which I thought odd. Definitely not the ex-con Hells Angels dirtbag crowd some of the hardcore metal shows draw.

I'm talking pre-Undertow as well. And yeah, Tool concerts have become a spectacle of what they once were. Not to mention that all the rich fuckers that started listening to them in college before becoming rich fuckers ruin the shows for everyone else. :dunno

tru fact but not a surprise. rappers use the largest vocabulary of words in any genre of music.

Yeah, but Aesop Rock, MF Doom, Czarface, and Busdriver are the rabbits. :p

In case you want some help understanding:
Flash that buttery gold
Jittery zeitgeist, wither by the watering hole, what a patrol
What are we to Heart Huckabee, art fuckery suddenly
Not enough young in his lung for the water wings
Colorfully vulgar poacher, out of mulch
Like, "I'mma pull the pulse out a soldier and bolt"
Fine, sign of the time we elapse
When a primate climb up a spine and attach
Eye for an eye, but the bog life swamps and vines
They get a rise out of frogs and flies
So when a dogfight's hog-tied prize sort of costs a life
The mouths water on a fork and knife
And the allure isn't right
No score on a war-torn beach
Where the cash cow's actually beef
Blood turns wine when it leak for police
Like, "That's not a riot; it's a feast, let's eat!"

Those rich fuckers were rich fuckers in training, trained by their rich fuck parents.

I never thought the popped collar crowd would dominate a Tool concert.

Yeah, I never had a beef with the Club, but it wasn't like growing up around normal people. :laughing

I tend to steer clear. Best that way. :D

I did witness a couple prospects KTFO some dude at the last Slayer concert I attended. They let him off lightly which I appreciated. :p
