Motoproponent was one of the first barfers i ever met and one super cool dude.
thanks a lot guys. i'm still figuring out how the BARF community works. i really appreciate the help and off collar humorsorry i'm an overly cautious, picky, "wanna do it right" kinda guy. that's just my nature. thanks!!!

The only issue I see with it is parts availability.
can i get a windshield for it? or would it not matter since i have a full face helmet?
buy the thing, and start riding. You've posted threads about "is this gear good", "is this bike good", etc - buy some halfway decent fucking gear and a bike that runs - and from a BARFer is probably your best best - and go fucking ride already.

Just finished a little over 600 miles with Mr. and Mrs. Motoprponant. They have too many bikes (really they do) I personally witnessed tears from both of them as this CB-1 is a family member.
I don't think you will go wrong with the bike, it is a cult classic and gives you instant cred. Honestly a CB-1 is a very cabable bike.
DO IT!
So I had my heart set on an EX500 or a GS500 for a beginner bike, but someone on the this forum wants to sell me a CB1. Is this a good beginner bike? I'm looking for something that handles well on the freeway, but also isn't too powerful, and is a standard seating position, not sport.
You'd be better with a GS500. From Craigslist. As long as it's had the oil changed every 500 miles and the owner doesn't talk too much.
New sig line thanksJust get a bike man. I got my first bike in april 08. A 1993 CBR1000F with 42k miles on it. It's ridiculously heavy; over 500 dry, and is decently powerful, for a early 90s literbike.
I'm sure if I was on barf before I bought it a lot of people might have said it's a bad idea, so I guess it's a good thing I wasn't; because I love that bike.
After riding it for nearly 2 years I picked up another, smaller, lighter and less powerful bike; albeit more beautiful but I still love to ride my Honda. It's just so comfortable and torque-eee
You just gotta get a bike and ride man; aint nuthin to it but to do it
