Honda CB1 a good beginner bike?

says the guy thats shopping for fairings for his f3 :x

thats for the track silly rabbit :p
and ill buy tires before fairings anyday

I'm still laughing about the French wife and hotter sister. Lord, what in-joke am I missing out on here?

Even if StevenDavisFoto doesn't buy it I should thank him for all the interest he has generated for my CB-1. I got a pretty full weekend of showings :thumbup

Yes you have dibs. I won't sell it out from under you, But I won't sell it out from under the other folks that are coming by this weekend either.

I don't want an angry hondacb1.org member to put a severed horse head under my pillow while I'm away. :|

Fairings on a beginner bike are silly (not so silly I wouldn't get a Ninja 250/500 or GS, but silly nonetheless). You will drop it. On a bike with fairings that's -$1000. It's not the end of the world, but the wind protection ain't that big a deal.

My first bike had only a flyscreen, was stuffed with a smooth but underpowered 650 thumper in a an overweight chassis, and it served me pretty well for a daily 90 mile commute (SF-palo alto-SF) at 85mph on 280. (BMW f650cs).

Don't overthink this. Buy a bike you won't feel bad about dropping. If possible, add sliders. Actually on that note, don't get the CB1... I will be angry when you drop it. I won't flinch when you stuff the dime-a-dozen GS.

get an s1000r, i heard that it actually lowers its power for you if youre a beginner and if the rear tire starts to slide, it will actually use little leprechauns to automatically slow down the tire so it will have grip again. its amazing stuff!

Get something you feel comfortable crashing because you will wreck your first bike for sure.:laughing
