Honda CB1 a good beginner bike?

Aprilia Mana 850 an awsome beginers bike but pricey since it is an Italian.

Honda dn1 would also be a great beginner bike but retails about 15k, I saw one at a dealership for about 8k new, I don't think they're selling.:ride

and 850 Italian twin for someones first bike? :laughing

Its rated at 56 horse power, I guess the cvt takes a little out of it. Since your not worrying about shifting I think 56 horses is managable. It sure is a pretty bike though and you can get it with abs.:cool

Y2k Jet Bike doesn't have a clutch.

Company in Louisiama makes those as I recall , and man isn't that a long wheelbase on that thing , or maybe it's just the angle on the photo.

Not a bad choice actually.

Exactly what I have, in black. Cost $2900 on cl, with only 2350 miles on the odometer. Got it from a nice kid that really wanted a Harley. The only money I've had to put into it was an $80 battery, and an oil change. Otherwise, it's been pure fun.

You can't be for real Ned. Not real. If you are that much of an "overly cautious, picky, wanna do it right" guy the motorcycle thing may just not be for you. You kept saying the GS was your dream bike and wouldn't listen to anyone who pointed out it was an ok bike at best but not worthy of yr "target fixation" (hopefully a term that won't appear in any of your future threads) and that you might want to consider some other options. You finally relent. Did you not at any point think it might be a little ironic to post the same fucking thread you've been posting about a bunch of POS GS's about the very bike a bunch of people have been telling you to check out? Especially after people have been telling you to STOP posting these type of threads?!? Again I'm pretty sure this is directed at a guy w/ an imaginary hot french wife w/ a hotter sister but if not, I'd ask a close friend or the high priest of whatever church you choose to attend if THEY thought it was a good idea for you to get a motorcycle before you actually buy a bike.

PS;Drunk but right.

If I had the money, I would buy it.

Not because I like the bike or think it's a good deal, but because I'm gonna miss these threads if you get a bike and stop posting them.:twofinger

:rofl:wtf

Hey Supermike,
I think either bike is a great choice. But I think the GS is better for a n00b and the cb1 is better for someone who knows a thing or two about bikes.

That's a pretty sweet looking GS. I think the Honda's a better bike but the OP might appreciate the wind protection and extra 100cc's the Suzuki has to offer if he'll be doing a lot of freeway riding.

Pfft, fairings; wind protection?? Just start without fairings. My first week being nekkid I could barely hold on while on the freeway. But I only weigh 110lbs

if u do freeway riding then yes, fairings = +++

friend got a gs500 for his first bike, freeway rides with it everyday.

My first bike was a honda shadow, no windshield. Man, getting to 70 was a pain. Then i got a sportbike and getting to 90 was a breeze.

I LOVE the nekkid bikes tho. If i had extra cash i'd pick up a ducati monster or bmw R or honda CB or suzuki SV! :p did i leave any out?

Fairings are for pussies.

There I said it. I feel better now.
