How often do examine your ethics and general

I believe that every single thing you do every day defines you, so that sort of hyperactive sense of personal responsibility kind of requires constant examination, you know?

Like seriously on a daily basis.

Me, too. Especially when I see people do things that enrage, puzzle or challenge me and/or my ethics, sense of fairness, compassion and empathy.. Because I work in an office that has some elements of snake pit to it, it gives me a chance to hopefully figure out what the right path is with the stated prerogative of sleeping well that night.

IMO, if one was raised with a solid moral and ethic code, embedded since childhood, when a situation arises that is inconsistent with said ethical moral code, it just doesn't feel right. That should lead to further examination on a conscious level.

Otherwise, I think I tend to operate on a day to day basis on more of a subconscious level in that area.

:thumbup On one hand, it is happening All the time.

On the other hand, it's easy peasy, just the way of living. :thumbup

I love barf for dissecting current events and that's where I really do the examining. In everyday life, not so much. Like if I'm under charged, or if someone walks away from their phone, or drops cash when pulling their wallet out, none of it requires an examination. I'm past evaluating those little everyday events and doing the right thing is second nature. It's the more complex situations that force an examination and I'd guess those come up 1-3 times a year.

Yup. Those are more the real tests.

Cash is not your give it back = automatic :thumbup

I constantly question how I respond / act to certain situations and wonder if there was a better approach. So in some sense I'm constantly questioning my ethics / perspectives.

A week ago a guy at work went to a metal concert and lost his wallet. Dude was so pissed but a few days later he gets a call from his bank. Someone found the wallet and turned it into the bank.
Morales and ethics still exist in the wild world.

Every day to be honest. Morals and ethics are a big deal to me, not saying I don't fuck up on occasions but I try to do what's right. Kinda old fashioned I am and sometimes I find the modern world a bit difficult.

Self-assessments don't work very well. For a proper examination you have to be married.

And when you get divorced, you get to finally realize who was really wrong most of the time. :teeth

I was raised with some difficult standards to uphold. So subconsciously, stopping to think right & wrong doesn't happen, it just goes by instinct.
But on a daily basis it is enlightening to consider all that goes on in the world & compare it to my own standard. It is hard to not get a bit disillusioned & jaded, sometimes.
