Jiggles
Just me
Its a pretty fucking badass phone. I just picked one up for $250 no contract. I could only get the silver 32gb, really wanted to get the black though, its super sexy.
First thing, the speakers. Omg it is so nice to have a phone whose speakers don't suck. Seriously, these speakers are super fucking badass compared to any phone or even any tablet. They are just phone speakers but its awesome for watching youtube videos and shit on my lunch break. Also, typically, I have a lot of trouble hearing people when I talk on the phone with them, but this phone really lets you amplify their voice and keeps it clear. I fucking hate talking on the phone, I'm a visual person and feel like I can't hear people well but this phone really helps.
It also has beats built in like most HTC phones. You can enable or disable beats with just the normal speakers and its a pretty significant difference. With beats off the music is louder but with beats on it is significantly clearer. I also have a number of beats products the pill, beatbox, and beats wireless and the One sounds a good bit better through them than my iphone does but its not really an earth shattering difference.
My most favoritist feature ever which is also available on the S4 is the IR port making the phone into a remote control. And let me tell you this shit works fucking amazing. I can control any TV set, any cable box, any home theater system and get this, it even controls the beatbox through IR. You might be wondering how the fuck it has every code for every system well, it doesn't need to. It does have codes for tons and tons of systems but even if there is no code you can just point your remote at the phone and click each button and it will learn the buttons that you click. This allows you to assign different buttons to different keys on the phones remote. Want the number 1 to pull up guide? Fuck yea, do it. I seriously cannot stress this enough, this feature is fucking amazing and I want it in every phone I ever own. No bullshit wifi remote that lags like shit, just good ole IR. I can even change the channel at restaurants and bars, its fucking AWESOME!!! The One's app also IMO works a little better than the S4.
And onto the camera. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the One has not an 8, not a 13, but a 4.... a 4 ultrapixel camera. Sounds pretty unimpressive compared to the S4's 13 megapixel camera right? Well, ultrapixels and megapixels aren't really comparable in that respect but I can say that my HTC's photos look just as good as the S4's (and better than the iphone 5's). I did a small amount of research into ultra vs mega but I don't really care after seeing the quality of the two compared. This camera is badass.
The camera app built in is also fucking awesome. Zoe is a cool app that does a 3 second video to help you retouch to the best shot. Doing this degrades quality but allows you to retouch faces so you get perfect smiles and shit. Its pretty cool and has a ton of features I haven't even used yet. The normal mode also lets you do a 20 shot burst just by holding down the button, it takes them super quick and you can do cool action shots, object removal and all types of awesome stuff. I believe the S4 does similar stuff but I haven't played with it. All in all, both phones completely obliterate the iphone 5. But wait, the iphone 5 does do panorama shots, so thats kinda cool.... I guess.
Oh and the front facing camera on the One does 1080p video, so that's goddamn awesome.
The One also has this cool feed which is your default homescreen. I changed it to the regular desktop though but I can go to the feed when I want to. The feed brings important stuff through like calendar dates and news articles that you subscribe too. Currently I'm subscribed to engadget and gamer news. When I'm bored I'll slide over and find an interesting article to read. Its a feature that was implemented well and even if you don't like it, it won't bother you.
And finally the last thing I really like about this phone (that is exclusive to it) is the HTC HD Media Link device. Basically its a tiny little box that streams your phone to your TV. It has a micro usb for power and full size HDMI output. It works surprisingly well. It displays whatever is on the phone on the TV live until you 'send' it a media file. Then it will play that media file while you can browse on the phone. I see this being fantastic for presentations and demo's at my store and at school. Wireless and just needs 2 standard cables, no adapters or anything.
So I think thats it. Oh it also does FM radio without an internet connection, not sure if that is an HTC exclusive or not but I've yet to see it on any samsung phones. It's a really fantastic phone with an aluminum body instead of cheapish feeling plastic (I'm looking at you samsung!) and the 32gb is $199 and the 64gb is $249 so they've really made up for not having a microSD card slot. This is the first android phone that would really make it hard to choose between it and an iPhone (jailbroken of course
) Luckily I don't have to decide, I use one for personal and one for work

No worries. I hate their naming structure. How does a One X come BEFORE a One?! :shrug Very confusing.
