I HATE Apple!

Yes I have to go to the original device (w/ iTunes) and do it because iTunes is the only option. Would you like installing a 100 MB MyATT-Foobar crap software on your other PC (say work PC) just because you want to see your call history?

You want to buy Apple software, you want to use Apple software. But you don't want to track your Apple software purchases with (drum roll)....Apple software.

Can't help you mang, you are illogical. :laughing

I can track all of my Android market purchases by logging into my Google account from any android device or computer. No special software required :dunno

All Android devices are capable of USB mass storage so files can be easily dragged and dropped :thumbup

My Nexus running 4.2 is REALLY clunky with that. It wants to either be a Camera or a Media Player. It gets on my nerves.

Btw,if you are mistaken I do not mean third party s/w to track my purchases. I mean the My Apple ID account page.

That is ok. I usually don't have much success making apple fans realize what is logical :)

So when you plug it in, it doesn't give you an option to select mass storage? Might be a driver issue, but I've never had to install drivers for mass storage.

Nope. It gives me a choice on the device desktop to act as a media device or Camera. Whatever I choose in settings is the default when I USB in. :dunno

LOL. Dude is rad. I wonder how he feels now that Ye Olde Crackberry is dying?

RIGHT?!?!?
https://play.google.com/store/account
The good people at Amazon do the same thing from any browser. No DRM, no client software, no bullshit. :thumbup

I've also found that you can buy an app once, and if you like you can install said app on ALL of the devices that you have attached to your Google account.
And nothing is in place to try and label me a dirty thief! Its amazing!

My GS3 acts up a little with that sometimes too. But to be honest, most times I just send anything I need to my Dropbox.

Try using a different USB cable, it's possible that one is messed up.

You know, there's an option to bitching about Apple's monoculture: don't fucking buy it, don't fucking use it. :twofinger

That's what I did, I used to be a huge Apple fan. There were always annoying things but the clincher was my Macbook hdd died and I couldn't sync my goddamn iPod touch anymore because it wanted to wipe all my shit :|. There was a ton of important stuff/songs that hadn't been synced yet (because it was a PITA). I tried to manually drag the songs off with some program but random ones were locked to my old HDD and wouldn't restore.

Fuck that. I went Android and never looked back.

That's dedication!

No it's just chronicling how things were. Kinda like drawings on a cave wall or something. Because in just another year, the only way you'll ever see a Blackberry on anyone is on that fool's leg.

I'm sure there's someone out there with a PalmPilot tat on them. Remember them?

I've used a few. It may have to do with older Operating Systems. I don't know what the Drivers in my car Deck are set up for and I work for a couple of non-profits that use Vista and XP. I don't think I've ever tried to use it for storage on my Win 7/Ubuntu device and I haven't tooled around with Win 8 at all yet.

No it's true. Newer devices are actually more apple like . they either give media or camera mode only

That's what I see on my two devices of significantly different generations.. The older one Also supports storage.

I actually had to endure a rant bitching against Apple yesterday.

one gal I know upgraded to iOS7 over the weekend and it lost all her data. Pictures and whatever else was there. :(

supposedly she thought she has them in an iTunes backup.. but iTunes deleted it .. :laughing :| :(
then she supposedly wasted the weekend recovering the data from a proprietary iTunes backup

Myself, not having been an Apple user for the last 22 years... did hear that such a thing does happen often with Macs--they say : oops, error, deleting your whole device nao!! :facepalm

What's a proprietary backup? No such thing is possible unless you rooted your phone, in which case you can't bitch when things don't work.

Much as you may hate apple's closed environment, you and I both know PEBKAC.
