The current barf doesn’t run well on any of my devices. Pages are slow to load or don’t load at all. A lot of times I can’t access the site.
If I try to edit a post it takes forever to repost after I press submit. The blue bar on top of screen goes 1/4 way across and stops. I have to open the site in a new tab to carry on.
It’s the same whether I’m running of home wifi or work or my cellular plan.
I suspect any changes can only make it better although as mentioned the modern look of some other forums is horrific

Thanks for chiming in! Mobile experience is one of the primary reasons we're looking at upgrading.
VBulletin 3.8.7 that we're running is super old and sort of cobbled together with duct tape and chewing gum. Next step is 2021 model off the showroom floor.

I would not hire a software developer that need the user facing product to be down for a whole day to migrate to new code, let alone a week. Climber outlined the steps well. The final push should be the kind of stuff that takes a couple of hours and is accomplished at 2am.
It doesn't need to be down for a day much less a week. The question is simply being asked.

I started my own vBulletin Page to run a Board for a game group I was running. It was cloud based and the most current version as of 3 years ago and it was trash, I hated it.
It felt like Mobile optimization was the main reason why.

As long as after we can FINALLY embed shit like streamable, twitter posts, gyfcat, or various other HTML5 stuff.
Also I've done migrations on much smaller forums. Godspeed to you guys. I remember the last time when Valgar tried to do it but Thatch fucked it all up.
