I'm a girl having trouble finding (tall) gear

I guess the other option is get a custom made suit or jacket. Hit up insurrection racing uo at thunderhill, they do sone good work too.

geez, i thought i knew you guys! no leg humping?!? no request for pics for better assessment of the situation?!?! NOTHING! i dont even know you anymore.

here, i'll do it for you.
OP, perhaps you could post some pics of yourself so we may better aid you in your search for proper gear. Remember, different companies have different "fits".

Well, I'm a personal trainer and most of my clients think I'm 'thin' and very tall. I am about a size 8-10. I think I am average size for my height. I weigh 160.
This is getting personal, hmm? Hopefully these details will help.
I have heard good things about Helimot but haven't heard anything about the other custom shops you guys suggest. I think I'll check out Dainese this weekend.

I had to deal with the fit problem. I just hated the idea of buying leathers to fit as they cost so much. The off the shelf stuff do not fit me cause tall, large shoulders, skinny ass, long arms and long legs.

Finally I came up with a solution that works for me, but took awhile for me to ignore the patches. A little tight in the chest, a little baggy in the butt, a little short on the legs and a little short on the arms, but the gloves and boots cover.

Works great, but just a little tight getting on and off, but did get used to it.

Just gotta find a set that will work for you off the shelf, or just order sized to fit. Have to pay four times too much, though.

well, you sure are making it hard to joke and see some pics of a hot personal trainer! :laughing

all joking aside, I hear great Helimot is the bees knees. and Dainese has the euro fit that would seem to fit you from what you describe.

Could you post a pic of yourself or measurements? I know we leg hump around here a lot but I think it might help. I am the same height as you but as an asian guy with skinny, girly arms and wrists I have encountered difficulties gear shopping. I do feel that I do fit some brands better than others. Dianese jackets and pants are cut a little slimmer, Alpinestars fit me as little baggy, and I have to get my gloves custom made a Helimots. My wife is abot 100lbs. and only 4 foot 11 inches tall so she needed a custom Aerostitch, custom made Helimot gloves, and BMW boots. BMW might have gear that might fit a woman's form more accurately but I am not sure. Heck, I've got a nearly new Vanson jacket that might fit you but, as you know, it is a crapshoot.

P.S.- Since this IS BARF, if you post your measurements you don't need to include your cup size. We'll use our imaginations.:party Oh, and one more thing, I don't know if you included this in your original post but are you looking for leather or textile gear?

Wasn't there a huge bitch-fest about these suits on BARF a while back? I don't care either way, nor do I know if the complaints had any real teeth, but I also think she should hear more than just one side. I'm sure it's a fine garment, but it might not be for everyone.

I think you're thinking of Tilt who went into the leather suit market. I don't recall any complaints of Ghazi's (Teiz owner's) product on barf or anywhere else.

Been to Scuderia? They might have some recommendations.

yep, i bought a friend a gift cert. for her birthday last year, she just started riding and is 5'10" barefoot, works out every day so has a slender but in shape body with long arms and legs, Scuderia fitted her with perfectly matched and awesome looking Dainese jacket.:thumbup

Had a custom two piece done at Johnson in SF, a track suit at Helimot. I'm 6'4" so off the rack is not going to work for me either in most cases. BMW and a few others offer tall stuff, at least for guys. Highly recommend Johnson and Helimot. Both did great work, and were great to work with.
Finally got the BMW catalog to load. They go to 5'9" for women. Not 5'11" but might be better than the others.

The only thing I can add the this conversation is that I am a tall guy looking for a tall girl.

bonus if you are a fellow ginga!

I haz leathers that you can wear!

<---- They don't make diamond rings that big anymore!

Ask for Louda at the D-Store, she's very knowledgable and helpful. She even let me try on her riding pants since they didn't have that size in stock. :thumbup

I'm usually, well, on a bike when I go to those places, but I'm pretty sure that BART is close to Scuderia. I don't know if anything is close to Dainese... I think it's walkable from Scuderia, but if it's sloppy outside I'd take a cab. Couldn't be more than $8 over there in a yellow. Let us know how it goes!

Dainese is having an event tonight with a Moto gp photographer, food and beer!
