I'm a girl having trouble finding (tall) gear

Thanks for all your help everyone! I bought my 2 piece suit at Dainese today! ...and now I'm staying for their special event. Next I need to get my bike!

I have been looking for a Jacket and or a two piece suit. I am 5' 11" and girls jackets are too short in the arms and overall length. Men's stuff fits weird, too big in the shoulders and arms.
What should I do? Get a custom? Or...?
Gah!! I am 6'! You know my pain!

I would tell you to go get a leather jacket from Fast Company... but they stopped making them. :( I'll need to get another myself at some point, it SUCKS.

congrats!

:cool Joanne (GearChic) works at Scuderia too so shoot her a message if you are heading down and see when she might be in the shop.
Aw, thanks for the love. :teeth

Well, I'm a personal trainer and most of my clients think I'm 'thin' and very tall. I am about a size 8-10. I think I am average size for my height. I weigh 160.
This is getting personal, hmm? Hopefully these details will help.
I have heard good things about Helimot but haven't heard anything about the other custom shops you guys suggest. I think I'll check out Dainese this weekend.

Of course I wish you would have come to see me at Scuderia, but I'm glad you found something. When it's hard to find gear, you just have to go with it!

Come and see me sometime. :) I'm usually there tuesday and thursday afternoons.

Try the Harley store in SSF on Corey Way. Don't know about sizes but they seem to have a lot of woman specific apparel.

Glad you found a great suit Anne.

For tall ladies (I'm 5'11", 135), I've found I fit decently well into Arlen Ness men's suits. Women's suits, NO CHANCE. Unfortunate because some women's gear is really super cute.

I've gone cheap too many times and ended up with products I didn't like, which is a big waste of time and money, so when I started motorcycling I went custom from day 1, first with a Zooni, then a Helimot, then ACT. All great suits. Have to say my Helimot had a great combination of cool design and multiple crash sturdiness, but felt a bit like the Michelin man in the suit. Puffy. Hippy. The ACT suit was more sleek but designed more to be replaced every year by someone who is racing a full season (and crashing an expected amount). Fortunately they were reasonably priced with racing sponsorship, and a good deal even without sponsorship. Juan, Helmut and Andy are all great guys to work with too!

Hey everyone, I am also tall and thin and am looking for a good daily wear jacket that is on the longer side or, at least not SUPER short when I go into the XSs haha :rofl. Also, I have noticed that a lot of the "nice" looking jackets don't seem to have much armor and the traffic around here makes me tend toward the more armored jackets... haha :) Anyone tried the "Alpinestars Women's Stella Bionic 2 Protection Jacket" (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co...Womens-Stella-Bionic-2-Protection-Jacket.aspx) if so, how does it fit? love to hear any comments, suggestions, complaints, etc!!

Currently, I have a two-piece Alpinestars leather track suit (which fits ok, I little short length-wise and big width-wise lol) but I want to save that more for track days now and would also like something a little cooler/easier to put over work clothes/store when I go to work ;)

thanks y'all :thumbup :ride

This thread needs pics of all you tall chicks.

:laughing:laughing Werd.

RS TAICHI. They're cut for skinny Japanese people (no offense my fellow ninjas). I just got my one-piece a few weeks ago. Though it's the same numerical size as my A-star one-piece, it's cut MUCH narrower. I tried on Dainese because I knew that they had a narrow European cut but the RS Taichi are more so. I barely fit in it. I've actually been on a diet and worked out because I knew it would be cut smaller. I have a slim 5'8" and 155lbs build (and I'm handsome too:cool) and it's a very snug fit, but breaking in nicely.

Scuderia West is the only place in NorCal that carries them. RS Taichi are known to make some of the best suits out there. Try Rev It also. One of my skinny girlfriends (not my really my GF, just saying) has one and it fits her really well.

RS Taichi size chart.

Good luck.:thumbup

42 should fit perfect

My custom Pilot just showed up today...fits like a glove, and I could actually get in and out of it without help :) Made my donation to the asphalt gods, and looking forward to starting the break-in process tomorrow, but it's not going to need a ton of that.

Well worth forking out the money for custom, and I haven't even ridden in it yet. First time ever that something actually fit me (in the line of gear).

In case any girls are still looking for tall skinny gear, I have two used suits I'm interested in selling. One's a two piece custom Zooni, white, pink and grey, the other is black, white and red, a custom ACT Racing suit.

I'm 5'10" and 135 lbs. If you're looking for suits in that size/shape, let me know. You might want to give them a little TLC and as such I'd be selling them somewhat cheaply I think.

Email me for details, christie@passedbyachick.com.
