VxWorks is a real time operating system. It does not control the vehicle. Thats kinda like saying Microsoft made www.google.com cause it runs in IE.

WindRiver's vxWorks was used as the real-time OS that runs on Curiosity. All the flight software were developed in JPL.

Hi-res images released from Curiosity's descent to the Martian surface have been assembled into a video at approximately 5 frames a second (matching the rate at which they were captured). Audio from control room is roughly matched to the video.
