Is 60,000 miles too many for a bike?

:wow
Is that a hex or cam head, and how often do you do the valves?
What kind of seat? :rofl
what tires do you like on it?

I'm currently running Pilot Road 3's and am happy with them. Not a lot of choices for a 19" road tire.
You like the PRIIIs better than PRIIs? Which one gets better mileage?

One of the guys I know from another board just posted this one, it's an '05.

I think you'll be good for a while.

It's an 09, the last of the hexheads.
I check the valves every 6k but they rarely need adjustment anymore.
Rick Mayer seat
I would probably get better mileage from a PR2 rear tire over the PR3 but they don't make PR2's for the front.

is that why used GS cost so damn much?

for example a 10 year old GS with 92k miles for $6k. comes with ohlins and panniers.

Not ridden as exclusively but still goes like always. 2 years ago, so there's a couple thousand more on the odo ...

What part of the "Not ridden exclusively" didn't ya get? :twofinger :twofinger Tiger is an '03, no? :teeth

So that's 132 miles every day .... including weekends

wow. that's too much. As much as I love riding, there are other aspects of my life that would need attention too.

My RT is at 84k now and will probably be past 90k by the end of september. Even then I'll be embarrassed to post a pic in this thread.:wtf

:ride

I always feel humbled by threads like this.

My '01 Bandit 12 has 94k. I thought I was all cool. I'ze not. It's going to need some major love soon, and I might not maintain it much past 120k.

So, to those that really :boobies up the miles, :hail

I sold an '08 GS at 51K miles he's down in Patagonia having a blast. He rode it down there :thumbup

I thoink we let that bike go for $8950 no bags but excellent service history.

Using it as a messenger bike I put 80k on an SV650 in 2 years, other than regular servicing and replacing expendables it had no issues what so ever. The last time I saw the bike was in '09 (bought 03 sold 05) and it had another 47k on it and was still running on original internals(except for clutch plates but with the original baskets).
