I have been getting my knee too close to the ground to not have knee sliders but i dont have the funds or the balls for leather chaps, is there any knee sliders that are universal or something?

...you don't have the balls for chaps?

I can't begin to imagine what that means.

Get a clue. If you're going that fast on the street, you're just plain going to fast. Slow the hell down. And get some decent gear. Only a fool goes that fast on the street. And an even bigger fool buys pucks but not proper gear just so he can put his knee down.

Now if you're doing it in a parking lot or other controlled area off the street, kudos to you. But if you're doing it on the street, you're a statistic waiting to happen.

There's also another easy way to avoid scraping your knees.....don't hang your leg out so far.

By proper gear first and take it to the track. You'll live a lot longer and/or with a lot less pain and expense.

I guarantee your knee isn't as close to the ground as you think it is Mr. Hyosung 250R...

....and if for some reason I'm wrong, that means you're pushing it way too hard not to be wearing proper gear. Get some leathers mang.

Its not that im going insanly fast or anything i just enjoy leaning the bike and hanging off I had a bit off a scare turning in a tight intersection and my knee touched for a brief second with just jeans and my dianese leg armor underneath. I always wear the armor under its just since i dont use a car and go with my bike everywere I can image it would get annoying to always be in the leathers but yeah i do plan to get a 1-piece for the track, but for street i just want something easy so i dont have another one of those scares and can still ride the way i do. sorry if i gave the impression i was doing the silly nilly on the street but I definatly dont want to be a statistic.

Troll :)

It sounds to me like you are TRYING to touch down... In the street there is no reason to have a knee down, specially wearing jeans! I dont have a car either and use my bike as my only mode of transportation.. unlike you I have never even gotten close to touching down.

You like hanging off the bike which is cool, but there is time and a place.

We want pictures or it didn't happen!

PS....look for some cheap leather or pants here on BARF. There are a lot of people offering some great deals on gear!!!:thumbup

You have soooooo many contradictions in this post that it borders on the insane. :rolleyes

To ride the way you do requires leathers. No matter how you try to twist the facts, you are still riding above and beyond how one should ride with jeans and armor. As others have said, take the knee dragging to the track. To do anything less proves you are a troll, and someone who doesn't listen to reason.

come on man, statistics are cool!
ever hear when somebody quotes a statistic? one of those number could be you!!!
without statistics we would be loosing tons of information that helps people smart enough to alanize(alanizing is more accurate) the data!

now im feeling the hatred lol. seriously im not doing anything that crazy i just like hanging off, and sure ill get some pics for you if that pleases u lol, the jeans/ underspandex got a small rip through them and the dianese pad got a scratch. I dont remember were i saw it but i think there is some knee slider that slips over jeans like construction workers knee guards, anyone know what im talking about? Correct me if im wrong but dragging knee and going fast are seperate i believe i will never go above 80 on the freeway but i might take a turn tight while i have seen people go 150 on the freeway and put their foot down when making a u turn.

Joe Rocket used to offer the "Razor" suit which was a low-cost textile suit that had knee pucks. For those without the budget for leather - it'd probably be good for a low-side or two but wouldn't have the durability of a well make leather suit. It might even be waterproof and make a decent bad-weather suit in a pinch. I don't think it sold well so they no longer offer it.

There was also some company selling knee slider "kits" which were velcro that you could sew into your existing pants to attach pucks. I'd say NO WAY to those.

Get a suit designed for pucks - adding your own is asking for trouble.

You ain't getting it. It's irrelevant whether you enjoy leaning the bike and hanging off. If you're going fast enough to drag a knee on the street, you're going too fast. If you're not really going fast enough where draging a knee is almost a requirement but instead just hanging way, way off the bike and seat to drag the knee just for the fun of it, then you're compromising your ability to control the bike in all situations by being that far off center from the bike. Either way, it's not good.

By the way, hanging way off when it's not necessary is just a poser move and brands you as a newbie and squid.

Just tryin' to save your skin and maybe your life here. For what it's worth.

I have some used pucks you can have. They have a few drags left in them if you want them.Just duct tape them to your jeans.Maybe you'll start a new trend with the squids.
