Leaked Apache Video

Terrorism is fueled by the suffering caused by self centered political and military actions. Blowing up more homes, and orphaning more children is not the way to fight it.

Terrorism is not a nation, or a person... It's an ideology, and one that you can't stamp out with force.

Two quotes then I will get back to work

Albert Einstein:

The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.

and

Edmund Burke:

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.

It must be nice to be able to see the world in terms of moral absolutes.

It is nice to know what you believe and live that. I am at peace with myself sorry if my "philosophy" and belief system is not the same as yours. Live and let live

Terrorists had bases in Iraq, they were supplied with weapons and money from Iraq which could have been used to create a 9/11 type event on our doorstep.

You have no proof. You don't kill tens of thousands of people based on vague accusations.

There are many, many people in the world who believe that we are evil; terrorists among them. You've just rationalized, and justified terrorism.

It's rather foolish to make fun of a man for how he thinks when his opinion is formed from experience in something you have none in.

It's just the internet and I don't even smell blood in the water. Maybe chill, enjoy Friday and the weekend.

The British blockade of Northern Ireland by sea stopped tons of weapons and explosives being brought into the conflict. This undoubtedly saved lives in that situation. Most were from Libya but the parallel I believe can be drawn Weapons for Conflict

No this nation as a whole whole "freak out" if the price of gas went so high. I was using an example that I knew exact amounts for. I was expecting you to be able to extrapolate that amount and see the true impact it would have on our society, not me as an individual.

I work mostly from home, using remote control software to help clients. i used to fly at least twice a month which I dont now. I have 1 street bike instead of the 3 I used to have. I must admit these "savings" are mostly economic and not idealogical in nature. Yes my oil usage is lower than it was 2 years ago, is yours?

of course it is, otherwise i wouldnt have asked the question :thumbup

and to add to it, mine was significantly lower than the average persons anyway...the only real main issue i have is my traveling, which requires flying. lotsa oil, lotsa pollution :(

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter, people believe what they believe in. I believe I justified that I am at peace with myself. Nothing about the justification of terrorism.

Once you "have been there and done that" come back and let us know :thumbup

Every little bit helps but we all still have to live and work. If I could live happily without racing motorcycles I would but......:ride i think about the ozone layer with ever lap I turn :rofl

I forgot what my Dad taught me, "Never talk Politics or religion unless you have a few beers first" :teeth:party

Is it beer thirty yet? :staRang

Life is to short you just need :sex + :Port = world peace :thumbup

War on Terror, price, Billions of $$
War in Iraq and Afghanistan, price, Billions of $$
No more major acts of terror on American soil, PRICELESS

Simplistic? The truth sometimes is!!

you act like we were'nt already in Iraq when 9/11 happened

I'm going to take a wild guess, but I bet you two gentlemen support the right to own and bare arms..?

Edit: if so, are you really suggesting that it's permissible to shoot someone for open carry?

I am neither for or against open carry.
As for shooting someone in open carry, if you are in a hostile war environment, I would darn make sure I am not openly carrying especially if a combat helicopter of the other side is flying over my head, unless I am part of the military of course.

I do not believe these journalist deserved to be shot, they were at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people.
Example being the children, if your picking someone up that just got shot by a combat helicopter, that is still flying overhead, I would definitely not bring my children.

point of interest the helicopter was not directly overhead....it was quite a distace away according to what ive read

Quote from someone involved:

"A lot of my friends are in that video. After watching the video, I would definitely say that that is, nine times out of ten, the way things ended up. Killing was following military protocol. It was going along with the rules as they are. If these videos shock and revolt you, they show the reality of what war is like. If you don't like what you see in them, it means we should be working harder towards alternatives to war."—Josh Stieber, identified by commondreams.org as a veteran soldier of the same Company depicted in the Iraq killing video released this week by Wikileaks.
