Learning safe speed for corners

Is there any way to do something like the slide bike besides the superbike school? The rest of the school would be a waste on me in the stage of training I'm in.

I disagree. I've taken CSS levels 1 & 2 and think they would help you a great deal. Having a structure and plan for corners is very helpful, and those two classes at California Superbike School focus on what to look for in a corner to best judge entry point and speed.

The way I read your posts it sounds like you don't trust the bike to stay up. One thing to consider is that as you corner a motorcycle it pulls you toward the outside of the turn. Just like when an aircraft banks to turn, you know that the plane is wing down but you feel level and your drink will stay level on the tray even at 45% of bank. Motorcycles do the same thing, as you corner it pulls you into the seat. So there is no need to hold on or worry about falling.

+1 Andy knows his stuff :thumbup
