Hey Liam or anyone else that can answer this question.

What's up with the apparent new style of wearing leathers over the boots? I noticed in a recent pic Vale sporting this new look as well as a test rider at Fontana (pic below)on a zx10 sporting this new look as well...seems like your leathers might roll up your leg in the event of a get off.

It may be new in MotoGP, but that's only because they are a bit behind the fashion curve.
Most of us trendsetters have been doing this for years :laughing .
Actually, I do it because the seams on the inner and outer sides of most leathers bother my legs.

Nah, it's not new, Dainese has been doing it for years. Check some old Rossi pics to see what I mean. Anyway, I'm at the airport in Malaysia on a short layover. I'll have a little bit of time when I'm back in BCN later this week, but depending on the crush of things to do, I may be bouncing west to Madrid for a couple days, not sure. Then it's the Qatar test, back to Madrid, then to Jerez for the IRTA test. Then a short break to completely stress out, err, I mean finalize all the cool stuff before the real racing starts, haha. I don't know, so much stuff in the last two weeks, I can't process it just yet. I've got to multi-task like you wouldn't believe.

The pants covering the boots thing goes back some time ago. Here is a pic of Carl Fogarty back in 1999 8 years ago! Dam time is flying.

Hey everyone, I'm back in BCN for the week (I think), and we're getting a ton of stuff ready for the Qatar tests in a week. I know I'm loaded down with things to take care of, but I just wanted to say, "Woot!" and keep the momentum rolling that we picked up in Phillip Island last week. I think that's the first time I've ever seen Pramac D'antin at the top of the timesheets, and to hit it two days running showed that we're working on something in the right direction, and it wasn't just a fluke. I don't really want to comment on who's using what (Q's), but it's safe to say that almost everyone was throwing them on by the final day. It's a real pleasure to be working with Alex Barros, and it's a neat circle for me because a few of us Barfers put together a dvd that included a rare and candid interview with him. I hope we can keep everything moving forward until the season starts, and I hope that the political side of things won't slow us down if we start chewing up the wrong exhaust pipes, if you know what I mean.

Sorry this photo isn't the best, but my Sony DSC-T9 is on its last legs. Six months of MotoLiam usage was too much for the poor girl.

Liam,

I love the red katakana shirt. I can't find it on your merchandise section, is this a secret swag item? Anyway, let us know when it's available to purchase.

Charles

Hi Charles and Johnc,

The latest 2007 MotoLiam gear should start to be available within a week or two, if I can get around to it! I really wanted to double check the quality of everything this time around, so I'm taking my time to insure that everything is just right. I'm also trying to get some additional designs spun up that will revolve more around MotoGP, and bikes in general. The prints, ink, and shirt quality of this stuff is top notch, and although I'm not 100% happy with the sweatshirt (it's pilling around my neck in the hoodie part), steps are being taken to make sure that doesn't happen to you guys. Everything has survived multiple washes, so I'm stoked about that, and this year I'm doing what I can to represent myself in a unique way. Aside from my team gear and my personal gear, the only other stuff you'll see me wearing will have come from MotoStrano, because those guys have been behind me all the way on this crazy trip. Oh, and sometimes I secretly wear my official Barf Racing paddock shirt, but that's for special occasions. I can't wait to see who's going to turn up in MotoLiam stuff, so if you've managed to get ahold of some, please take a picture of yourself in it and email it to me, or post it here on Barf. The same goes for the stickers we put out last summer. I love seeing that kind of thing!

On day three of the Phillip Island test, Bridgestone really stepped up and supplied Alex Hofmann with a super secret rocket pack so that we'd get a little bit more speed and traction when we were fighting the huge gusts of wind in some of the faster corners, but that's all I can say about that.

Yeah, Rossi's been wearing the Dainese stuff this way for years. It's prolly because the new inner hard boot liners (boot inside a boot) stuff doesn't have room for the pants. The liner is best tight against the foot, ankle. But what do I know????:teeth
No chance of the pant riding up....I'm sure they got this figured out!!

donation drives for the "get liam a new camera" fund will start next week. get all the little kiddies in your block to start going door-to-door with a tin cup to get donations ... :teeth

I'm not too worried about the camera just yet, because I've still got my older one, albeit a bigger and lower-res model. I'm concentrating more on getting geared up for Qatar and beyond, because I'd rather stock up on certain supplies now instead of bit by bit during the season.

And yes, that kid was sitting one row behind me, just off to my right. When he would start up, another baby in the section ahead of me would respond, so they worked off each other. That was a rough one.

Barros celebrated a little after setting the fast times, with this. Naturally, the rest of the team had to settle for just fish and chips :laughing
