*Liam's Wild Ride*

We later made our way to the circuit to meet up with the rest of the crew and get ready for some dinner. After being there for a week, I still can't figure out how to navigate all those little towns (think pop. 200) in order to arrive in Scarperia, and the Autodromo Mugello.

$20 donation to BARF (why is it so difficult to find the link to donate?) in honor of Liam's new job and this thread. Thanks Liam for lowering my work productivity. :laughing

Can we show you some support by doing a Group Buy on D'Antin shirts to wear at the Welcome Home Party?

And tell them to update their website: :laughing :laughing

Liam, quick question, is this one of the teams that you had any meetings with or contact with at the beginning of the year?

I know it's a little early to be bringing this up, but yes, I will have MotoLiam shirts for sale at Laguna Seca. Multiple designs and colors, and simple - just the way I like it! I have put myself in a hole following my passion and the travel throughout Europe hasn't exactly been cheap. I also have spent countless hours on this Barf thread, so if you feel you've gotten something from all the entertainment, photos, and stories I've posted, I would encourage you to swing by the party at Blue Fin on Friday night and pick up a couple shirts for yourself and your friends.

Troubles I'm running into at the moment are the fact that I'm going to be on the road for the next five out of six weeks, and contacting the States will be difficult. I would like to have stickers and patches available as well, so if you have an inside line as to where I can make this happen, then by all means, please shoot me an email.

In the sense that I have been giving back to the motorcycling community with the account of my adventures and commentary, this is your chance to step up and give something back - because I could sure as hell use it!

As for the d'Antin shirts, I'm not sure if we'll have any available for sale at that race. We are still finalizing some sponsors and I doubt we will be ready with product at that time. Further, it's unlikely that the teams will bring tons of gear to Laguna Seca because it's a flyaway race for us and cargo is expensive to ship. We'll see - I'll keep you guys posted.

Yes. I've been in contact with several teams in 250 and MotoGP since Laguna Seca last year, and every chance I get I continue to make new friends around the world.

Oh, and as for d'Antin's website, that's the last thing I'm thinking about. I'm just trying to kick ass and do the best I can.

Tricklidz - never stop smiling. Truth to be told, I have a 'spider-sense' that alerts me to the possibility of a photo, and then the smile just pops out. Most of the time I'm concentrating, and as you've all probably gathered, this isn't the kind of place where smiling/joking around is tolerated. We're all here to work.

Il Rustico. This is the place you want to find and eat at should you make it to Mugello. It's about two minutes from the main Track Access road in Scarperia, and it's usually got a bunch of GP folks there in the days before and following the race. On Tuesday night, we had a nice private room to ourselves, but were situated with Jeremy Burgess and the Camel Yamaha crew, some Repsol guys, acutally, just too many of the teams were there for me to remember. The food was good, and while service was Euro-speed, it was great to see everyone (in colors) hanging out a little and nodding at one another.

Following the entrance, there are photos of the owner with a very young Valentino Rossi, and an even younger Max Biaggi at the start of his career, Shumi, Okada, and more. The doorways are decorated with race stickers that are decades old.

Pizza! Don't get anything that says Wurst/Wurstel, because it's just a hotdog. The Salamino Piccante was the real deal, though, and it rocked!

We drove up through the mountains surrounding Firenze and off in search of our rustic hotel. The weather was a little intimidating, but we soldiered on.

2496695-ml811.jpg

Then it started raining. That normally wouldn't be so bad, but we were on one of the twistiest, nastiest, mountain roads I'd ever seen. I don't think a supermoto could have hadn't it well, as it was so filled with potholes it might has well have been a goat-trail.

It took what seemed like several hours to find the place, criss-crossing through several villages and over streams, to grandmother's house we went! I hadn't realized it, but it was cold up in them hills. I jumped out of the van around 7PM, to find I was standing in snow!

2496697-ml813.jpg

Here are some shots of the castle/villa we stayed at up in the mountains. 20 people? No problem. 3 bathrooms? Mierda!

2496703-ml822.jpg

A quick shot of the room I was in shows it is well equipped and, oddly enough, well lit!

2496706-ml826.jpg

The grounds were outstanding - lush and full of life. Wild boars were said to be roaming about and I felt like a medievel warrior just walking around the forest.

2496710-ml823.jpg

Heated springs provided a nice resource for this outdoor swimming pool. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to use it! Talk about your perfect place for a honeymoon!

Even the picnic tables are influenced by Italian design, and this one was quite stylish.
