Thanks, John. I'm hoping to have enough time off work in July to ride up to the Canada West gathering in Nakusp, BC, which is about 5 hours north of Spokane. Not quite as close as Mariposa, but still a gathering of likeminded riders in a beautiful location.

I've just added "cancelled" to the StonyBARF event in May, and added the StonyBARF event for September 7 - 10, 2023, to our google docs, under the 2023 tab ...
 
Another cancellation, this time for the Mendo Rally.

The Fuller Grove PG&E group campground closes on 09/09/23, and we couldn't talk them into staying open to accommodate us after that ...

Mr Mootsuno/Dean is talking about trying to organize some sort of three day Mendo/Usal trip. I'll keep us posted. :ride

Rally goers can expect 4 nights of grassy tent camping, optional RV camping with water and electrical hook-ups, hot showers, cold drinks, great food, clinics, speakers, vendor displays, prize giveaways, and the camaraderie of lot of fantastic people from all over!
Attendees will also have great local riding opportunities including Poker Runs, a self-guided road and GS rides (with Rever and GPX downloads) as well as optional GS training courses and new think year a first responders’ course as well as friendly competitions.

$135 after Apr 30.

Around 427 spots filled, 500 max - usually sells out. Organizer is BMW MOA NorCal working with GS Giants. All bike makes/models (and RVs!) are welcome.

I go every year and it's a great event. Lots of great riding in the area. Also, there are two English Trials skills competitions with prizes, too - one on tarmac, the other in the fairgrounds rodeo ring on the dirt. Free to register for these. And for adv/enduro riders, there's the GS Giants competition set up by Dennis Godwin and the GS Giants. Great fun to watch all of these - or participate - open to all comers.

Unfortunately was not able to get everything together for this year. We hope to bring the event back in the future.

Most of last year’s event routes are open with the exception of the shore to sky. Sections are still impassable from weather damage.

OK, my 2024 riding season is starting to shape up, so I updated this thread title, and created a “2024” tab and spreadsheet at the bottom of the google docs link in the OP/first post in this thread, and added nine rides/rallies to our new 2024 spreadsheet … here’s a link right to the “California 2024” spreadsheet list of events: California 2024

the rides/rallies on the 2024 list so far are: Death Valley n00bs, StonyBARF, BARF Taft, BARF Kernville, Sheetiron 300, Backwoods Bash, Downieville Daze, BARF Weaverville and BARF Hawthorne NV.

there’s a fall StonyBARF to add, the End of Pavement/Cedarville Rally, when we pic a dates, and maybe the Redding Dirt Riders 2024 dual-sport ride, if those guys do that. and the SFMC may have a camping ride or two.

and, of course, anyone reading this can edit the google docs spreadsheet to add anything necessary … :ride:party

so, anyway … looking like a good start, and a wet winter, so maybe the wildfires will stay away again. :afm199

well, you know Mr budman and Mr Butch, so that's five of the 12--the four traditional BARF general/motel rallies and sole StonyBARF date we have.

Death Valley n00bs is Mr NSFW/Joel.

Sheetiron in the Oakland Motorcycle Club, of course.

Downieville Daze is Mr Catfish/Mike, and Backwoods Bash is Mr Bungie Brent of the OMC/SFMC.

if you're interested in a particular specific event, let me know.

anyway, think I have an extra column in there, I'll see what I can do adding an adult to the list. :angel

Mr Dean, mootsuno, is the adult in charge of organizing, and he's been doing the Mendo Rally for a buncha years, so it's generally pretty organized.

we're still waiting on dates for the fall StonyBARF and the Cedarville End of Pavement events. That's Mr Butch for StonyBARF and Mr Tony CrazyCooter for Cedarville, the supposed adults in charge of organizing. :clown

OK, we're hoping for better April weather this year. The Horizons Unlimited Traveller's Meeting will take place in Mariposa, CA, from Thursday April 18, 2024 to Sunday April 21. I posted it on the BARF rallies page and updated the Google Docs sheet. Hope to see some BARFers there!

I was able to add finally add the cool HUBB event to our California 2024 spreadsheet, after being denied once when it was mysteriously locked. anyway, some progress with our speadsheet and the Horizon's Unlimited event, which seems like a super-deal for $89! :ride

I usually make my BARF rallies into adventure rides by taking a dual-sport bike and hitting fire roads and watch towers … :clown
