Manager of FPS Russia site found murdered

:rolleyes
I think his videos are very entertaining. You pay for your entertainment by a fee, this is done by donation, yet every bit as good.

You are confusing donations with getting paid per video view which has not been my argument.

I've enjoyed his vids. He deserves whatever he makes from the YT partner program. His latest money making scheme, not so much...

Oh you decide who deserves to have a kickstarter project?

Or does nobody deserve to have a kickstarter?

I wish established companies wouldn't turn to kickstarter as a way to fund their R&D or to use KS as a focus group for marketing research.

When it's one or two guys looking to get a first product idea to a provable, patentable or marketable state, then I'm all for it.

But when a large or popular videogames or tabletop gaming company that owns offices and makes profits, they should create another venue and not add more noise and competition to the little guys.

I guess that's up to kickstarter, but they take 5% so it wouldn't make sense.

yah not from a business sense but from the claimed goal of the site reason.

One can wish, even though it's not likely to happen.

Not sure what his partnership contract is, but he started out posting gaming videos with a Machinima contract. Machinima has a flat guaranteed pay rate of $2 for every 1000 video views. I can't imagine he's under that contract anymore so he's probably got a variable CPM scale. Super popular YouTube channel so I can't imagine they have much trouble getting ads. Conservative guess is he is averaging $3 per 1000 views.

As of about 5 minutes ago, his main channel has has had 537.5 million video views. Do the complete math if you want but he's easily made over a million dollars since his channel started in April 2010. I'm sure not every view "counted" as money since for awhile mobile device views didn't pay those guys anything. But still easily over a million.

Hell, his outakes and extras channel has had over 8 million views. There's a decent car for just throwaway footage.

I just looked up an even bigger youtube star. Jenna Marbles will probably top 1 billion video views before the end of maybe February.

Damn there's some big money in that YouTube shit.

I still don't really understand how he has the money to do all this.

a lot of the weapons are probably borrowed or loaned, so his out of pocket expenses would mostly be for filming supplies, ammo and tannerite.

I bet you he gets the tannerite and zombie targets for free. It's good cheap advertising.

I haven't been watching much TV lately but anyone notice the last few months there are not as many (crappy I may add) Gun shows on the cable networks? (American Guns, RJF etc.)

the gun shows are in hiatus i imagine, though it might be extended now.

They were cancelled by the History Channel and TLC after the Newtown shooting. Google news will show you the stories

someone dies in a meth related raid or OD, do they cancel Breaking Bad?

someone gets stabbed with a knife fighting over a woman, do they cancel Game of Thrones?

somebody, somewhere, is probably planning just such an overreaction. dammit.
