Mat Mladin accused of child sex crimes in Australia

A bad divorce or breakup throws a whole different spin on this. Know of a couple times where a wife set up the ex with a child abuse charge. As previously stated wait for the facts, being an a-hole doesn’t make him quilty. Don’t particularly like the guy but that’s a heinous crime and hope it never occurred for the sake of anyone involved.

Agreed.
There is plenty of time for the "Backing it in, going in deep" on-liners later.
They're on deck if needed though.

I've met Mladin, Yates, Gobert and more. Mladin was intense. Not a bad guy. Gobert, met at a gas station by Cannery Row was with some chick in a rental car and wanted us to score for him. Nicky Hayden had a handshake that would crush your hand. But the biggest prick I ever met is a tie between Chris Ulrich and Kurtis Roberts. Arrogant fucks the both of them.

Haha. Oh yeah Kurtis is a douche.

Very sad if true. Before Spies he was a cut above the rest in AMA racing and I was a fan.

Yep. I still remember his mad skills when he went into gravel full speed and didn't let the bike drop.

I don’t know anything about policing in Australia, but I know a bit about policing in the USofA and the article does say “After a lengthy investigation...”

To me, that implies more than just “he said, she said” bullshit.

Cardinal George Pell can tell us how seriously Australia takes a charge of child rape. Times have changed. The world has changed. Now, when there is the smell of smoke we grab the extinguisher.

Not rushing to judgement here but the sentence handed to Joe Gyan (Sons of Guns star), life plus forty years, seem appropriate for child rape.

Gonna' track Mat's progress through the courts.

I always wonder what happened to the guys who dedicated most of their lives to racing and AMA effectively collapsed. It’d be an interesting study to see how many stayed in the business somehow or completely moved on and to what careers.

That’s where I’m at.

Disappointing news, however it goes.

As a fan, my wife and I always found Mat friendly and open.

I think a lot of them moved up or retired. It's really baffling to see, especially in hind sight, how frickin' awesome AMA SBK was and how it collapsed.

I know a lot of economic factors played into the popularity of motorcycle racing in the US, but it's also "funny" how everyone thought AMA SBK needed fixing. And the fix nearly destroyed pro road racing in the US.

Anyways, I've run into Mladin several times over the years and to be honest, I was a fan. I know he had a reputation, but I personally didn't see it. I saw a phenomenal road racer. Nicky and Ben managed to beat him consistently, but that's about it. They both went onto MotoGP and obviously a world title to boot. That's what it took to beat Mat.

I have zero idea about his personal life, tho it's hard to fathom anyone doing what he's accused of doing. I sincerely hope it's not true.

Rumor from Australia that he and his wife had a blowup and she is trying to destroy him. Have no idea if it is true. I know it is possible. I will hold my judgment for a while. I've seen shittier things than that. Guy I knew shot his wife and killed her back in the sixties. No witness. Walked.
A lot of shit gets said during divorces and some will do anything to destroy the other including 'manufacturing' the 'proof', sometimes they don't give a fuck what they do to their child(ren).

We don't know the facts, let's see what comes out of this, years ago when that women sent her car into the lake with her children inside (in the 90's) I immediately suspected her because I'd already seen how evil people could get in family law court.

That's a pretty obscure comparison.
The woman you're talking about was suffering severe depression and it was proven she wanted to be with someone else who ultimately shunned her.
Mental illness and suicide seem like odd dots to try to connect here.

I mean, something needed to be done about the factory suzuki dominance and how the only entertainment was the race for 3rd place.

They didn't fix it, they just broke it worse.

My comparison was that her actions didn't surprise me after seeing and experiencing how far people would go in court to do evil things to their ex's. Family Law Court just shows you to what depths people are capable of going, even when it harms their own children.

Same thing could have been said for Hailwood, Ago, Doohan, Foggy, Rossi, now Marquez and Rea.

I watched Nicky smoke the field on the RC51. Instead of punishing the whole paddock into oblivion, errbody else needed to up their game.

Anyways, it was fun watching Ben and Mat duke it out for the 'ship.

Srsly hope this guy isn't really a pedo. :(

I know what your comparison was.
(rolls eyes, moving on)

Let's just hang him now. No need for a trial.

Haha hell yes cause what we say here on a forum holds the full weight of the American justice system in Australia.
