Got 24 mpg on the highway ride home (134 miles) with about 20 miles of spirited hills and curves to start out the trip. Been averaging 18-20 since then, about half of it is stop and go driving, the other half is freeways going 65-75. I've heard horror stories about the mileage, but haven't seen it yet. I'm pretty happy with 24 on the highway, taking it on a trip in June so we'll see if I can get in the upper 20's.
that's not heinous, but for the performance it's pretty bad when you can get a bigass american V8 that'll get nearly if not more than 30 on the highway with 400hp or so

zr1 is better than the zo6, rx8 sucks badly, if you go rotary you go rx7, fd or fc, everyone has a wrx, same with the evo, get yourself the mazda speed 3, or if you do want AWD get the mazda speed 5, 10 more hp, and its AWD,
The results from a drive to Sacramento from San Jose. I made the trip somewhere between 70-75 mph the entire way and was rarely passed by anyone. (The 66mph in the pic was due to it being taken while decelerating on an off ramp.) And this is from a stock 7 liter V8.

why aren't they compatible? speed3 has more torque and more hp than wrx, but it lags in 0-60 due to front wheel drive only. WRX is slower at high speed acceleration though. 70 to 90 e.g.
wrx is a 4 wheel drive which has its plusses and minuses (mostly a plus)
speed3 has nicer interior and is a tad cheaper
zr1 is better than the z06,
Well duh! But in the scope of this discussion...that's really not relevant. I am just assuming here, but I think it's safe to say that some salesperson selling a speed 3, WRX, or used Z06 for a price in the neighborhood of $25k is never going to get an undecided buyer who says, "well that's a nice car but I just don't think I can pass up dropping $150k on a new ZR1 since it's so much better than the car you've got here."
Might as well cross shop a canoe bewteen an 80' yacht.

is that the new one? is it just uglier, heavier, and slower than the old one with the same drive train?
