Mgtow

Amusing statement, but considering women are more likely to join a support group to get help with their problems, I’d say they are coping in a more positive way than being an internet whiner & hater.

Yea, i was just goofing around a bit with this. But i think i accidentally hit on one of their (mgtow) issues. If i cared more i could watch more than 2 youtube vids about this, but thats enough for me. If my wife dumps me i reserve the right to find out more about this "He-Man Woman Haters Club" stuff...

:laughing

I just asked her, and apparently i can stop watching vids, as i am currently in good standing. :teeth

Kinda like the guy who talks about sex constantly never has it and the guy who talks shit about t3h gayz constantly probably actually is gay himself?

Yup. With the Internet, overcompensating has taken on a whole new dimension. I sometimes think people are buried so deep in the closet that they have no idea. I mean, with this guy, it's seems more like the modern Internet-abetted narcissism that reduces all other people in the world into something like video game characters rather than latent gay, though I still wonder a bit.

For all my adult years, I have often pondered that some men talk about women like they are just living masturbation aids. Their feeling, their response is secondary to nil. This guy built failed relationships because he didn't seem to be paying attention all along. I mean, I get it maybe the first time, we all have possibly suffered young love and been disappointed. But three times?

Relationships are hard, sometimes they don't work out. There are some really cruel people out there and I think emotional abuse is probably more prevalent than anyone wants to talk about.

Ya got out alive, good for you. Now STFU, no one cares. :twofinger

Can't believe there are actually labels for this. :rolleyes

Word. People are complicated. Relationships are hard. Deciding you want to remove yourself from the dating pool to do other stuff is fine. But blaming your preferred dating pool for all your troubles is lame.

Agreed. And yet i can't imagine being a 20 something and trying to date these days. Seems like a mine field on a pogo stick. That some choose to play it differently doesnt suprise me a bit. Who knows, maybe the whole mgtow thing comes off as "bad boy" and ends up getting results...

:laughing

I wasn't aware of MGTOW. I still can't fathom incels.

Both baffle me, and reek of frustrated entitlement.

Mgtow isn’t being incel. It’s about just dating and not putting up with super demanding women and not getting married. Totally different things. Mgtow is about not being a push over to women and standing up for what you believe in. Incels are sad little kids.

Isn't that just called that being a bachelor?

Maybe in my case but, lots of guys don’t know how to say no to a woman or hold them to the standards they would a friend/coworker/family. They turn into push overs and get burned in relationships. An example is the validation most women seek, look at online dating for example. A bunch of guys so eager to get one woman to respond they send hundreds of messages, all the while women just eat up the attention without intent to meet up or date and message maybe 4 or 5 guys back. It’s a instant validation machine. Look at all the 38+ wall hitters online. It’s kind of like Vegas on a girls night. Bunch of wall hitters thinking they ”still got it” looking for attention.

This is the stuff Mgtow is about. Look at any social media. It’s the same, women think they have more worth than they really do in most cases. Their mind set starts to change one they hit the wall and that’s when they start complaining about “where have all the good guys gone?”. It’s easy you blew all them off for years in hopes of something better would come along but it never did. This mentality turns a lot of women into entitled brats who think they are worth more than the men pursuing them early in their life and it doesn’t change when they get older and want to settle down. Lots of guys are fed up with this mentality and are sick wasting time and money.

Talk to any dude who got divorced, and how emotionally and financially wrecked they usually are. Just isn’t worth it to guys who work hard and they are speaking up.

I watched the video.

If that guy's Mgtow, then I believe I'm correct about both groups. Different groups, yes, but both born from entitlement and frustration. Incels haven't gotten laid, Mgtow might have, but both primarily blame women.

Don’t you have an open relationship with the wife? Kinda just proves the point of that vid.

That one is for you, sticking to your values.

He has much different concepts of honor, values, and respect than I do.

Mrs. and I are about as equal as a couple can be; that's why we're a couple. The open relationship aspect is just one facet of that and a minor one at that.

I read this with interest. A part of me wants to disavow the generalization, yet I work with a gal who exactly fits this description and she is in a younger generation. Perfectly in fact. She is so great at dismissing most men but she is becoming an quirky old maid in her late 20s, a cat lady in fact, yet she is pretty, really keeps fit and dresses nicely. It's in my face so to speak.

I have had a hell of a time just having a normal office conversational banter with her because she is so busy practicing rejecting everyone. Yet she seems so normal, I know her background etc etc. She is clearly choosing where she lives, who she associates with to rise out of her West county ethnic origins and become a Danville-San Ramon gal, looking for a well-heeled Mr. Right. I don't think its financial greed, but this kind of association with success that will make for a better life. It's her right of course, but she is failing and unhappy and most people around are kind of savvy to the trap she has put herself in. It should just be "oh, that's one person" but there does seem to be a kind of generational cultural imperative at work that perhaps matches what you are saying above.

As for the final paragraph though, i am that dude who got divorced. I have come to the conclusion that my ex-wife is kinda neurotic but I met her, courted her, married her. I bear at least 50% of the responsibility for being with her so I resist the urge to just put her down as though I am the normal one. I am humbled that I did not have the courage to realize it was a bad match and it doesn't help that we made two fine boys in the process. I cannot regret that. I think this is my beef with the OP dude, too. It's like "I'm normal and they're not."

it's just not that simple even if people want it to be. There are stages of maturity that people go through, but no doubt some are at arrested development. It will be your misfortune to pair with a person of either gender who is so. Same with people who extoll shallow values and they do exist. It's mystifying to me that some people really are shallow but I've seen em with my own eyes. But on the way out of these bad relaitonships, there is no point in declaring that so many other people share that character that they can be depersonalized. I still think OP guy was just pretty blind but wants to be validated that he is a victim.

I know there are some inherent contradictions in what I am saying but that's my dos centavos.
