Mid-Engine Corvette spy shots

I'm going to hold you to your uninformed claim that the Corvette "is far from being a true performance car." Let's break down your claim to ensure that we are comparing apple to apples.

What is your definition of performance?
What is your definition of true performance?
What are you using as the basis of your opinion?
Do you have any first hand knowledge or experience in a Corvette built after 2006?

Corvettes are, and have been, the best 'sports' car for the money for along time now...and nobody will care because of how many people can afford them. Let's be honest, there's way too many of them for anybody to give asecond glimpse to anybody who drives aCorvette...which drives corvette owners crazy lol

One of my co-workers has a 1984 Corvette, and he is so damn proud of that thing. Useless in the rain, typical early 80's GM computer gizmo dashboard that doesn't work for shit most of the time, crappy paint, and unreliable.

I particularly enjoy parking my beat to hell 1984 Chevy diesel pickup next to him and pointing out the identical paint color and condition. :D

Haha, yea, 80s GM cars are garbage |:(:cry

Also, he couldn't drive it for a year because of a DUI breathalyzer interlock, and now he can't get it running again. I kinda feel bad, but not very much. :laughing

I saw a ZX10 crash once. They must be pieces of crap.

Argument fail.

I'm not arguing that based on the 1 crash. I like the Corvette.. The C5 base, 1997-2004, had issues though. :party Or at least that's the impression I'm left with after, you know, racing with a bunch of them and speaking to the owners at the abandoned air fields that we go to..
Best bang for buck for sure though.. A C6 Z06(my fav) Raped me real real good the whoooooole way up to 180 in my car..

The ZX10 is a piece of junk I just couldn't get the hp4 I wanted. It rattles over bumps :x

True and likely and hopefully will stay like that for a while. It's good to know and to have a sports car J6P can afford to own and to repair. While a mid-engine and everything else to give the European and Japonese exotic/performance cars a run for their money would be better, it'd destroy a good thing. And as the saying goes, "don't let the better be the enemy of the good".

Yup. I agree, but that's not what Marcus is talking about.

I suspect that he thinks he's a 'car guy' like many others that we've met that don't know more than they glance through online. I've had the owners of Evo's, STi's, M3's, 993 turbos, GT3's, etc. come up to me asking me what modifications I've done. They are all surprised when I say it's stock. Actually, that's not the truth. The GT3 drivers generally won't talk to me after we 'play' on the track.

I'll counter that statement with the Buick Grand National, pretty bad-ass for an 80's GM car.

Ford was putting out better thought out product in the 80's (T-Bird redesign in 82, Mustang, Taurus- really wanted one after watching "Robocop" for the first time)...

I see a really clean Mustang SVO driving around Monterey very once in a while and wonder why they didn't sell so well, they were pretty cool for an American car at the time. :dunno

I have an 80s GM vehicle, that's why imade that post. The paint is absolute trash on every single 80s gm vevehicle so is the interior. Panel fitment is meh, and all the cars are super under powered.

What car do you have?

I have an M5..
I'm not a cheater though :laughing anyone that asks me I tell them I have long tube headers, cold air intakes, a really nice tune and some suspension work. Basic bolt ons..
So close to buying an intercooled supercharger setup so I can play with the big dogs. Almost pulled the trigger once.
Actually I bought a bike instead and voila thats how I am now here lol

Didn't say you were wrong, I just countered with an exception to the rule. There's always an exception! :laughing
