Misfits Patch Vote!!!

Uh, sorry to throw a wrench in here, y'all... but did ANY of you think to get Dennis' permission (Budman- as in, the owner of BARF) before you start helping yourself to the BARF name and font? That's great that you guys want to form your own club... but implying it's BARF's club? That's not cool...

One other thing, Guys... there actually IS a "Misfits" MC... and they are a real MC, not a social organization... you know, it's like the difference between Curve Unit (social organization) and Hells Angels (real MC). They may not take kindly to this. It's a respect thing... they're big on that... jes' sayin'...

Already gotten permission from Budman to use the 4 letters A, B, F, and R assembled into a format to spell the word Barf.

Also contacted the California chapter of the Misfits MC ((Was worried about this too)) and was told that the word Misfits is not copyrightable, nor is a patch with the name on it as there is a band called the Misfits and lots of people wear shirts/patches from them. Since we are not using an eagle, the 1% logo, or the term MC on it anywhere, we are not going to be messed with while riding...

KOi..sorry to throw a wrench here. I like #2 BUT I really think it needs to be in the actual B.A.R.F. font..and perhaps if possible in the same blue gradient..leaving the misfits in whatever font you have and in green. Liek Patty said..I don't think the added colors add cost..just needs to pop more as part of B.A.R.F.

So i didn't throw in a vote yet since it is not exactly what I would vote for...any chance to get that font from Budman??

I have sent a message to Budman asking if he knows wot font was used and if we could use it for a patch.

My only wrench for your wrench, is that what happens when Budman updates the site, or someone designs a new banner???

I think the key features we're asking for is the BARF, whether it's with or without periods, the MISFITS, and a fish.....

I will mess around at work today and see if I have a font that's similar, but I am still waiting to hear from Budman if he'd mind if we used that particular font/color scheme, and wot font it is.

No, it's a "Koi" thing. What are koi? Fish. Who's creating the patch? "I am the Koi". See?
And yes, there are already BARF patches, purchase of which supports teh BARF.
Or, come out to a 1Rider event, I have a few kicking around in the bottom of a storage bin that I'll give you for free.

The clicque was created during our northbay breakfast meets when we realized we were a ragtag group of misfits with different life styles, bikes, histories, interest that had met on BARF. We were also the only group riding out of the North Bay consistently. It was then given the title "Koi's Misfits" during breakfast as I had been organizing the group rides. During the original discussion people were unsure whether to include the BARF on the patch and I felt strongly that it was a necessity... mostly because I am a proud BARF member and have had no interest in claiming other groups or caring if other groups saw me claim BARF.

I don't see any difference between the Misfit group, the Travelling Barfettes, the BARF militia.... except that our group wanted it's own BARF patch and are putting our own money up to do so...

Well some of your own money, but you also asked us for some. Then went on to say if you give money you may or may not get a patch, and that someone else to decides who gets one. That sounds like an exclusive club, therefore the requests for donations is just kind of crappy. Since BARF is on the patch the rest of us are in it by association but not really a member of your group.

I still think you should have had an option in the poll to make the patch but with no BARF association. Especially if you are asking us for money.

PS- I don't really care as much as it sounds like. I am just trying to point out why you might be getting some of the ill feelings.

Ah, I read the first post yesterday. I could have sworn it was a little different but you are right. He isn;t asking anyone but the misfits.

My monies on Koi. As I had said before. Koi has been doing a lot in setting up events for the riders of the North Bay. He has donated to this cause to make a group of noobs feel like they can get out and do what the rest of us do.

I am a misfit, but I fit into BARF well. I enjoy the company of Koi's group and if they want a patch I am more than willing to support them.

Budman and the Misfits (MC) have no issues with this patch so why should anyone else.
