I like to ride alone. A couple people can be fun, 20 + annoys the hell out of me. Other people love that stuff. Different strokes for different folks. Why are we so quick to judge, other than it's fun and passes the time in the 'Sink? Does it really matter where someone chooses to socialize or how they do it? Sheesh people, lighten up.

True that I don't get down that way very much -- not my preference to take a long ride and end up with more traffic than I started with! Sharing a meal works better for some of us - ya gotta eat anyway, no? Standing around in a parking lot is not the same thing.

Nobody on bikes left buzzed from one of my Meets. Personally, I wanted a margarita or two, so I caged it to my Meets... and if I went on my bike, I drank iced tea. And as long as we were all there eating and talking and socializing, I wasn't leaving buzzed, either.
As far as STP is concerned, all you have to do is park and chat... it doesn't matter if they're BARFers or not, they're riders, so the stories will be there.
And until you've actually GONE to the P&W, you have no way of knowing it's not your thing. The SF Peeps are worth the drive, and worth hanging out with. Just my :2cents

Having read all this stupidity the only thing that comes to mind is what Groucho Marx said about joining clubs:
" I d never want to belong to a club that would have me as a member".
