Not really anything to get excited about, what with it being the first session out for the scheduled days of testing, and the track/weather not exactly at their best. It would be more interesting to look at the final session when they can do simulations, and I'm hoping to overlay that with each rider's final testing session the last time out, see how or how much they've improved since then.
But hey, check out Mr. Metronome at it again.![]()
that lap time graph is awesome. I see MM's line and imagine him going HHRRRNNNGGGG fast as I caaaan for a couple of laps, then slowing WAY down going "WHEW...huhhh....huh.....hhhhuhhh.....f*** this is ridiculous....."it's not like all of these laps are 100% effort on ever corner.
Actually, Bradl's chart is more impressive because he smoothly and continuously improves. And he is on a "satellite" stead. Lorenzo may not be trying many different things. We don't know, really.that lap time graph is awesome. meanwhile lorenzo is like bang, bang, bang, bang, bang....
granted at this point they are probably working on such fine details that they probably have 1 or 2 things to focus on each lap, while saving it in other areas, it's not like all of these laps are 100% effort the whole way around.
I would like to see the comparisons a bit further down after today, if not too difficult. Thx sinncere.
We started at ten o’clock and had something to do, but then we had a small problem with the engine on the new chassis we’re working on. So we had to stop that bike and continue with my old bike but I’m quite happy because my pace wasn’t too bad, even on the 2012 bike. But because of the rain the afternoon was useless, so it’s a pity because it’s boring and we can’t do anything.
). its funny how the numbers line up, .3 from Jorge to Rossi and .25 more back to Cal. so if Cal was on factory equipment, he'd be on par w/ Rossi on lesser equipment. .
sidenote: ive so far failed at writing a parser to ingest Dorna's pdfs. their format is inconsistent esp w/ the columns, making it almost impossible to parse out text correctly. ill prob give it another hour or two just cuz i like a challenge.

Amen. TXT is non-formatted garbage. What are they using to create their PDFs, some kind-o-british right-side shifter crap?Although, if you think Dorna's MotoGP PDFs are troublesome, you should try working with WSBK's!![]()

How many bikes could you add to the chart, before it becomes a sloppy mess?
I told you to not fucking worry about it, bro!

actually, i think my parser would like those better. at least the columns make sense.

I think you are missing the serious accolades that he is giving Stoner. If you watch Stoner over the years, he usually let his tires warm-up. Dovi is saying that Stoner was THE man, to him and others who actually race at this level, IN MY OPINION.Dovi giving some respect to Stoner's abilities.

Dovi is a class act. While I'm not sure Stoner would have been so demure if the role was reversed, I do agree with Dovi's observation that Stoner could be as fast on the first lap as the rest of the field could approach on the fourth lap. Very much like Mr. Mladin. Both of those guys were able to ride cold(er) tires better in the early portions of the race.
