Motorcycle Parking (Valley Fair in Santa Clara/San Jose)

email i just received -
" Hello,

I understand that you have already been contacted by our Marketing
Coordinator Megan Stagnaro.

In addition to Megan reaching out to you, I would also like to invite
you back to Valley Fair - where you and I would have the opportunity to
drive the property and discuss possible locations for additional
motorcycle parking.

I can be reached at the phone number listed below.

All best,

Dino"

you coming?

I'm with Dino right now. we are going to roll around the structures on the cart and point out possible spaces. Weekends wouldn't be good with them because it's a weekend.

Where are some places you guys want.

alright guys! I have an appointment at 2pm with Dino today to drive the property and figure out the best location for the parking spaces. I know i will have some good ideas but it would be great if a few of you guys can come with and figure it out and make this work.

anyone free by 2pm????

i will be there at 2 so if you guys come, shoot me a text to meet up. 4086282382.

Hats off to you for doing something in order to make it better for others!

:applause:applause:applause

ok. the meeting was good. he will be in contact within the month. We looked at all the entrances and possible spaces close to the entrance. He will try to put spaces in the structures first floor or second floor. There was an area by CPK that was ground floor right underneath the ramp he will try to turn into motorcycle spaces.

Hey Tri, thanks a bunches dood. I got the email today but couldnt make it out due to work. Glad that our efforts are paying off! woo hoo! parkin'! :D

Dino will return all the emails that were sent and I do encourage if you guys have time to go in and ride around to point out any other spots that would be good for the bikes. :thumbup

well, on the 1 hand, thanx a ton for getting things set up for success @ Valley Fair

you be Da Man !!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

on the other hand, I was really anticipating a fun mass 'civil disobedience' action -

can't we find another example hereabouts of mall stupidity, & meet there, instead?

I'm ready !!

Well.... we can still do that! I told Dino about that idea and he said it was a smart idea to show that they really need parking spaces. If we could arrange a weekend day on a Saturday or Sunday and roll deep to their CPK parking structure and take up the first, second and third with the closes parking spots close to the entrance. I am thinking the Sunday of memorial weekend.

Great work, I'm glad all your effort paid off.

There probably aren't to many places in the parking garages with security cameras, but its worth a shot to attempt to find a feasible area in range of one of their exterior cameras.

I was going to say split the valet parking in halfwith bike parking by the mall entrance by the cheesecake factory. this way there is valet guys watching our bikes.

haha I tried that idea but he didn't budge! They make money with those easily! I pointed to high foot traffic entrances as the main area to concentrate the parking so there will be a constant consumer watch.

I live near there, so count me in + 1 for any mass moto displays! :)

Actually you should cut that $1000/spot figure in two if you figure that you can at least make 2 motorcycle spots per car spot, so you'd only have to carry $500 in stuff on your moto.

That said, it's probably more like $40 per spot than $1000. I've been going there for years and can only once remember spending a decent amount of money, it was ~$300. Every other time was between $0 and $50, usually $0.

I honestly don't think the math would show that a motorcycle shopper would spend as little as 1/2 as much as a car shopper.

$500 on my moto? Easy... 1 pair of jeans plus a shirt or two. Done :thumbup

OP, congrats on your success with Valley Fair mgmt & making things happen towards safer parking for us moto-lovin' folks :) (sidenote: I had friends who recently rode to the mall 2up and when they came out both their helmets had been cut off, even though they were secured through the metal loops. Lame!)

i manage at the valet during the holidays..ill hook u guys up:cool

Good job braddah for your efforts! Though to be honest I have never been hassled in regards to parking my bike in open non-designated spaces. But indeed the place needs more moto parking spots for sure (hence my habit of parking in non designated spots ALL the time when I go there). :cool

GJ Tri. Did you happen ask what their policy is regarding parking near the doors? Like do they not care or enforce it?

I asked Dino about that and he doesn't want us to. They will ticket and if the bike is still there for a while then they will have it towed. So I wouldn't park by the door sidewalk anymore.

Wow, thanks for the effort man! I frequent VF often enough that it would sure be nice to have some spots opened up for motos. :ride Thanks and keep up the effort! I know there are PLENTY more riders out there not speakin up in here that would appreciate spots as well.
