Music, post it up

^ thought Little Red Rooster was a Howlin' Wolf original turned standard, but apparently a Willie Dixon one. I don't know if it is just the abbreviated length of sustain in notes/vocal phrasing of rock interpretations of blues songs, but they generally lack the emotional connection that the originals had.

I should have picked my YouTube link more carefully. That's definitely Howlin' Wolf--it's the recording from his Chess CD "His Best"--but a different album cover is shown. The notes with the CD credit the song to Willie Dixon, and he's playing bass.

Wait...Wut?

Some of her other covers were pretty fun too.

You know, the music for Mushroomhead is not terrible, but they seem to make the best videos ever recorded.

You know, I never cease to find the judeo-christian horror movie theatrics of Powerwolf fascinating. It is so uniquely Eastern European. :laughing

I've watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood about 8 times now, and this is my favorite song from the movie, "The Circle Game" performed by Buffy Sainte-Marie. It plays over Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate cruising through Westwood in her 911 on a sunny afternoon.

It was written by Joni Mitchell, and I wondered why Tarantino chose the Sainte-Marie recording. After listening to them back to back, Buffy's is more upbeat and a much better fit with the scene. Joni's is a real lump-in-the-throat inducing performance.
