My OG mend has started.

I have days when the artificial hip feels great, better than the real one and then I have days where I wonder if I fucked it up some how.
I admire you @budman for your perseverance.
Thank you.

The shirt I am wearing today agrees and @BillSmith your words carry some weight and are appreciated.

Hit eleven months on Friday (11 + 2 days by date). Bottom line is I am still mending. I am still working on it and still want to get to a better place.

The Mrs. is impressed with the commitment I have made to get the leg better and also the shoulder, which is the body part that gives me the most pain for sure.

Another longish moto ride in a few weeks as I close in on the one year anniversary of one of the worst days of my life.

I expected to be better than I am but after getting the realistic expectations firmly slapped in my face I am about as good as I can be.

At this rate , you'll end up better than before your injury!

OG mend is about to hit 1 year. This Friday.
Yesterday I did my one year Physical Therapy visit and evaluation.

They start with some self evaluation now as I tell my therapist where I believe I am at. So that took place and then some tests.

Range of motion - Continued improvement surprised me a bit. It has been feeling like I have max'd out a couple but they got a couple degrees better with the big winner being the range of my knee. That surprised me @118 degrees. Must be all the riding :teeth

Strength is very good on what she can test because I am a big dude and she is a little woman so I have to take her full strength with a grain of salt. I know from weight lifting the leg (Prince) is not equal.

Then some checking as to why there remains an area that feels bruised. Time will hopefully negate that.

Then we talked next steps and she ask me what I thought.
Well I think I need to do more agility stuff now.. light impact steps etc.

She just smiled and said 100% you are calling it. So I got some more drills to do which include some hopping, striding, toe tapping good times.

I figured with this step some guidance from a trainer made sense so Friday I have my first session. This will be twice a week and focus on both agility and stretching as the dude has the cert to put hands on clients for stretching. I did not know that do be a thing, but it makes sense.

As a former martial artist who did forced stretching I am looking forward to the mental relaxation that can be had when you are not trying to stretch yourself. I already now that works and while I might stretch almost every day progress has been slooooooooooow. I am really hoping this helps.

Doing the gym rat thing is really bringing smiles and knowing the strength will continue to come and now getting the agility and flexibility part in top gear has me pretty stoked.

Getting my monies worth from medicare as not many folks get to do therapy for a year and now... more! :thumbup

I still have a ways to go, but I am riding, I am feeling pretty fit and only have nuisance pain here and there.
