Naked S1000RR

Doesn't the R1200R come close to meeting that requirement?

Likely yes.

My next bike (in about 96,500 miles) will likely be a 1200cc BMW touring bike or the 1200GS.

Edit: I'd probably go all out and get the RT model because it's faired. When and if I ever have a garage I'd likely have one touring bike and one dual sport.

nuttin wrong with US! we just have a bunch of pansy ass, puss faced, piece of shit sensitive fags in charge of everything and all they're worried about is the cost to insure things like GP races on the street!!!
Fuckin Fucktards!!!!! :twofinger

I hope so. The only question I have is....Why didn't an American do this already?

Either buy the bike new, and enjoy the newness...or pick up one that tiped over and broke the plastic, and turn signals and rashed some stuff, and start form there?

Can it be possible that Americans can't grasp what it's like to move that performance into the form of a backroad bashing Canyon strafing insane rocket?

Why did it take the Europeans to give us the Motard...when we had a TV show, 20 years previous..called Super Bikers? Why does it take Europeans to introduce Multistrada and Hyper Motard and Cafe Racers and Motocross bikes? (we got Motocross from Europe Ya Know).

Why did it take Europeans to give us Street fighters?

Why is The Isle of Man...Not an American event?

What is freakin wrong with US?
Your best post, ev-ar. :thumbup
Back to my 'puter and my motogp 2010 game. I be Rossi. :ride

Why do people always drool over naked bikes but no one in the US buys them? The Europeans buy the shit out of them but here it's all about fully faired sportbikes or cruisers.

I only buy naked. The only faired bike I own is the track bike.

Don't listen to him, BMW USA. You bring that sexy thing over here and I'll make room for it in the garage. :D

Yup, I don't think I've even seen a Streetfighter on the roads yet. Saw a couple previous gen Tuono, saw some Z1000, ZRX, 919, and SV and a few Speed/Street Triple on the road but not much when compared to RR and cruisers.

Here's a good example of a 'naked'/standard bike that didn't sell well in the States:

Here's another example-my bike-lasted 2 years in the US-still going strong in Europe.

I'll pass. The S1000 is a pretty amazing bike, why ruin it by stripping it down? Just not a fan of "naked" or "streetfightered" sportbikes. :dunno

That's a mindset, a perception. Ruin? Some would say Improve.

A couple of years ago...Sport Rider Magazine, Street fightered their R1. Took it to their canyon "test track" and reported on the experience..

Article was called ..The Ultimate Sport Bike- build your own.

They were amazed at the increased performance, and sharpened handling.
It couldn't be accounted for, in the little weight reduction of the removed Plastic.

And they didn't even do the best job of prepping it for the Twisties.
They left the original 190/50 tire size on.

But even at that, they were Amazed...They ride the latest and greatest all the time...in the best settings....Have you no idea what it takes to Amaze those guys?

That bike was ugly when it was a demo. It's ugly as a sport bike and it'll be uglier as a street fighter.

I've never liked BMW styling, with a few exceptions.

No kiding.

I like the idea of taking a wadded S1000RR and making a fighter. Or, if they ever do make the neked S1000, I'll be picking up an '13 in '20.

Funny how there is such an opinion on naked vs. non. If I am going to get a fully faired bike, it's gonna be like Jason's RT :drool

Fingers crossed for the second (teutonic) coming of...

Note the absence of unnecessary plastic (I'm looking at YOU, Aprilia).

I actually like the K1300R, because its angularity.

I'm not sure about the lever suspension though. And as cool as I think it is, it was $2000 more than my GSXR1000 with 5x the mileage. Pass.
