new Honda RC model?

This is why we can't have nice things.

I used to hang out more with Lou. But I got tired of sprinting everywhere trying to follow him, listening to him shout at the top of his lungs at everyone, listening to his music at full volume, driving the kids to school at 130mph.
Man does that guy push the boundaries, 25hrs/8days a week.

:rofl :thumbup...You might feel a tad more at ease, now...I'm slowing down to the 120's when my tires are cold :laughing

What I wrote on this topic 3 months ago in CityBike, which I still stand by:

"RCV213V FOR THE ROAD? OR JUST MORE GIANT SCOOTERS?

Honda Motors President and CEO Takanobu Ito told a press conference on September 21st that his company is busily working on "a new supersports bike to which new technologies from MotoGP machines will be applied." Does that mean a new V-4 or V-5 sportbike reminiscent of the RC-30 or RC-45 production racers that are most certainly not filling everybody's garages?

If you run a speculative motojournalistic website, sure! Why not? You'll get lots of clicks. Why not speculate about a 250-hp, 300-pound prototype racer-with-lights available to Joe Everyman at your local Honda dealer? We here don't see anything in Ito's statement that would lead to anything more radical than the 2008-2013 CBR1000RR, which is a really great sportbike, and uses lots of MotoGP-derived technology and styling, but is hardly a miracle wonder-bike like the VFR wet dreamers are expecting. We predict an updated CBR1000RR which will be lighter, faster and easier to ride than the current model (or maybe anything else), but it will be an inline-Four and will be priced in the mid to low teens.

The fantasy motorcycle league players should have glanced further down in the speech where they could read Ito saying, "Honda will introduce a series of large-sized models with a new concept, which enable customers to more easily enjoy daily commuting and weekend touring. This stylish new series will be equipped with a “torqueful” engine, low seat height which increases the ease of handling, and a comfortable ride with high stability in maneuvering." Sounds like the return of the DN-1 to us (short, we've heard Honda dealers quip, for "do not buy one"), some kind of big scooter to compete with new offerings from Piaggio and BMW."

Cycle World's Johnny B (a CityBike contributor) is working from the same set of facts and it's all just speculation. I'd be very surprised to see anything RC30-ish. Expect a refined CBR1000RR with MotoGP styling, a little more power and a little less claimed weight. As usual.

Njoy ur torquefulness.

Seriously, why don't you guys just buy an RSV4R? It's everything you want the Honda to be...and Honda will never, ever build anything like that at that price point. Not in a billion, trillion, gazillion, brazilian years.

You know how many regulators rectifiers I would have replace on the ape?

Is it just me, or doesn't the whole tail section/rear seat look like shit?

Yes I am also not liking that black plastic side panel thing with the HRC sticker on it. That just throws the whole sleek look out the window.

:thumbup I like it, :thumbup..I'd thicken the seat, and raise the handlebars...But that's just cosmetics.

Yup, right. Nothing to do with comfort for yer hiney and better feel at the bars eh?:laughing
Actually other than the side panel (manky lookin POS really) and the cheesy bags, it's not too bad as is.:wow Next we know the Honda engineers will be calling it a "gentleman's rr" Sometimes I think the boys at Kamamoto need a brain enema:x (and I'm supposed to be on "their" side) Bwhahaha

I said cosmetics because it is so easy to thicken the seat..either do it yourself or have a seat builder do it..

And handlebars higher..easy...I've been doing it to all my Race replica bikes for 3 decades.

Everyone was done differently, because the starting point is always different, and why I'm doing it, changes along the way as well.

Bottom line though..it's easy..Eh :laughing

Hey buddy, my memory ain't that bad...yet anyway:p:laughing

You obviously don't get out to the track very often. I see plenty of high end bikes at the track every track day I do.

yep. I've only tracked 5x, and every time i've seen a desmo, or 1198sp, or panigale, sometimes many of them, running in A group and kicking ass.
