NFL 2023

well my Raiders are finding new and wonderous ways to suck. Jimmy G ain't no Ducati

What? He is the quintessential Italian Engineering model. Way too expensive, when he performs it is fantastic, but it doesn't matter that much because he is always breaking down and taking too much maintenance to keep on the field, but man he looks good while he does it.

DUCATI EXTRAORDINAIRE!

I WIN AGAIN THIS WEEK.

It's the most enjoyable thing for me when my friends in my fantasy league get upset because they lost to the guy that barely cares about football.

fuckin love it.

:laughing :laughing:laughing

Marcus Peter's pick 6 was cool. Crosby's still a beast.

10 for 21 for 126 yards and an end zone pick for Jimmy. Another critical, backbreaking drop by Davante. At best, the players are uninspired...everyone but Crosby and Peters. This team is better than last year too, at least on defense.

Unless he has some dirt on Mark Davis, McDaniels and Ziegler should have cost themselves their jobs by forcing Carr out for Jimmy.

Like I said, he wasn't the answer but he was an answer. As any team knows, getting at minimum a competent, healthy guy to lead the offense is key. Carr would have been in his second year in this offense with an improved defense. Jimmy is no threat to go deep like Carr is, so the defenses put extra resources towards the run game. McDaniels and Ziegler did a Plaxico Burress to my team and I'm not happy about it.

Was football on last night? All I remember is that scene from mr. deeds on loop where he says, "you went down like a sack of potatoes, I'll tell you that much".

His resale value has to finally be dropping by now.

I mean, Carr hasn't been particularly better than Grapp this year and he was way more expensive.

Don't think it was a terrible move form a Cap Space perspective.

:thumbup we may have different metrics to judge better v worse

Carr: 1,910 yards on 8 TDs and 4 INTs
Grap: 1,205 yards on 7 TDs and 9 INTs

Granted, Carr has played (through injury) 2 more games, but with grap getting only 100 yards a game...doubtful grap would be considered the same as Carr by any metric.

Carr does typically struggle in his first year with a new coach, and I'm not saying he was "the answer". He's not on the same page with his WRs yet, but he's making some big throws. Just saying he was "an answer" since competent QBs don't seem to be ubiquitous.

afa the cap, something to consider is that his original contract signed by the previous regime was cap-normal. Under Ziegler he restructured to make it more friendly to release him than it would be to keep him.

McDickface and Ziegler fired tonight. my god, Mark just paid Gruden and now will pay them too along with the new guys. crazy

they fucking deserved it, but this means another lost season. sucks

Oh sure, his stats are a little better this year, but he is playing on a different team with different supporting players and Coaches. My assumption is that if Carr was playing on the Raiders this year, he probably would be putting up similar numbers.

If you look at Grapp's QBR in previous seasons, like every year where he had more than 4 passing attempts, his time on the Raiders is a nose dive from every previous year on other teams.

It is cool that they get Antonio Pierce as Head Coach though. I still miss that fucking guy. Micah McFadden is looking like an emerging star to me, but he might be the first really good Middle Linebacker we have had since Pierce.

I hope he can land the job permanently. That Defense in Vegas will probably get a spark under him as HC now.

that's reasonable. I would assume after watching Carr as closely as I have when he plays a second year under the same system, that there is an improvement in his grasp of the play concepts and has a quicker and more accurate execution. But there is a nonzero chance that he'd suck just as Jimmy has. Maybe the offensive playcalling would have been different with him this year too. I'd also assume that even the threat of the deep ball that Carr possesses and Jiimmy clearly does not, would have opened up more running room for Jacobs.

Grap's QBR is wholely attributable to having a top-10 (top-5? 3?) defense with an innovative run game every year he's started. Put him on the Raiders during the same stretch with a bottom 10 (5? 3?) defense and 5 different coaches and let's see what that QBR would look like.

I vaguely remember Pierce as a player. Stout, good tackler iirc. Good luck to him.

Good riddance to Trash McFuckface.

That Belichick coaching tree is something, eh?

Josh McDaniels - Fired twice as HC, both times couldn't finish his second season
Joe Judge - Lasted two seasons as HC with the NY Giants
Matt Patricia - Losing record with the Lions
Romeo Crennel - only one winning season as a HC...in Cleveland
Brian Flores - 2 winning seasons
Bill O’Brien - remember him? Barely a winning record with the Texans, 52–48

Dude, pulling off a winning record with like 7 years in Houston is no small feat.
