no one waves in SF?

Like PGATour said, if you're riding in SF and you find a place where there's not a driveway every 5 feet, a double-parked car preparing to make a last minute u-turn, live chickens falling out of a delivery truck, or some crazy crackhead running out into the street from imagined giant bats, I'd like to know about it. Too much "you can't make shit like this up" stuff happens in SF for me to worry about waving.

Sometimes I'm riding my Kymco and a 1% er will wave first, it shocks the hell out of me. I'm not sure if I would wave to a guy that looks like me on my Kymco!

No, but it's totally not necessary. If it's a random thread with no interest, no one will post in it. Sometimes "random threads" go viral, and are entertaining as hell!
And as others have pointed out, we have an over-sized "zoo" already... it's called the Kitchen Sink.

Be on a solo mission to spread the good vibes and just know that the other rider probably did not expect it or was trying to stay upright at the time if they don't return the gesture. It is always possible they are simply too cool to wave but I bet secretly they enjoyed the wave and enjoyed being too cool to wave back and you were friendly so win win win! :cool

You will notice you don't see threads on "Why are there some friendly riders out there that wave all the time?" because forums don't thrive off of nice topics about people being nice.

So I will officially take this time to say thanks for waving! If you wave at an orange helmet and yellow safety vest on a black DRZ (I know the description alone probably eliminates me from said wave but...) and I don't wave back, just know that I wanted to but my death grip while negotiating SF traffic did not allow for it.

:wtf Dood, there are plenty of threads on BARF that fall into the "nice topics/nice people" category... maybe spend a little more time lurking here and you'd see them, too.

:thumbup Did not mean to step on your BARF toes, it was a general statement. I know they exist on BARF, if they didn't I'm sure I would'nt even be here.

No toes stepped on... but like with anything else in life, if you look for it, you'll find it. And there are so many examples of awesome BARFers doing awesome things... those are the ones I enjoy! :)
Although the occasional thread about Marriott bathrooms and stuntin' on the bridge have their moments... :laughing
