T minus 24 D and counting. Question: There is a long line on day 2 with no squiggles. I get bored easily. Is there anyone who would rather I not ride up on them and pull their foot off the peg? I ask because this has happened before .... may happen again.

Oh God, 23 more bullshit posts like this, I may get stoned to death before the ride even starts :teeth

Teoria

That's HWY-1 and that long line is a total of about 50 miles. About 20 miles in we have a ~20 mile detour of fantastic goat roads to get us back in the mood, then we have another 10-15 mile HWY-1 stretch until we get lunch, and a break from the "straightness." Then it's some fantastic roads, then back to some straightness for 5 or so more miles, and then back to some fantastic goat trails.

It should be noted that the views in that area are fantastic and will give us good photo-ops. I threw in quite a few changes of pace in the middle of that "50 mile stretch" or so of HWY-1 so it shouldn't seem too long or "boring."

Speaking of which, this is not a "4-20" friendly ride. I wish I didn't have to say it, but it will be a much less awkward situation if we just avoid it from beginning.

^^^^^^^^^^

He only says that because, believe it or not, it's happened before....

:rofl that is not at all what he meant, we usually all sit around and throw rocks at him when it gets boring.:(

good point, no drugs or alcohol while riding.:thumbup

I totally get what he meant, its just that his wording reminded me that this is 4-20 weekend lol.

Soooo, I really wanna go but I'm kind of a noob... Got the DRZ back in mid January and have close to 2k on it already and climbing fast. I ride everyday and I have been off road a couple times with no problems at all. I also would have no problems turning back if I was holding anyone up...

It's not a race and everyone rides at a pace they are comfortable with. There will be stops to regroup at all the turns. You will be fine if you go with us.

But being a noob, understand you are obligated to buy the first round of beers Sat. night in Ukiah.:staRang:laughing

It's not a race, but I will just semi-disagree with Luckett and say that this is not a newbie ride. If you think that your skill level is around that of a "noob," then just take the responsible path and choose not to come. It's not that I don't want you to go, it's that I don't want you to hurt yourself or your bike.

That said, I've not ridden with you (Underscore002) and if you think you can do it safely and have the bike to do it.... please, by all means, go for it. I'll add you to the "going" list. I'd love to have new faces be out there.

OK count me in just got the ok from the gf today. Can't wait to get a long tard ride in.I am fairly new on tards but have a few dirt weekends in and plenty of street miles. How long will we be going between gas? I would rather run the smaller tank but will put on the bigger one if I need more range.Definitely get me the google link so I can convert it for my gps too.

I don't have a specific number, but considering I have a tiny tank as do many others, we won't go very far. You should be able to go 70-90 miles. I will bring 2L of gas as a precaution.

You've been added to the "I'm In!" list.

JeffreyJay and Corb;

Any update? A for sure go, or no go?

Thank goodness for Wikipedia. I almost had to reveal my un-hip geezerness by asking the meaning of 4-20. (shit, I just did, didn't I?)

Where we at, 22 days? Gonna ride, gonna ride, gonna ride, ride, rid.....
