I NEED tires before this ride, I want to order online but if there is a place locally in the north bay that sells tires for a good price let me know. Not even sure what tires to get yet, the only off road ill see is probably with you guys so I was thinking of either the Pilot Powers or the Continentals for the SM. I can get the PP's for $258 and the Conti's for $208 shipped. I do commute a whole 15 minutes to work every day so I think I'm looking for a tire that can handle the commute and running around town but still grip on the weekends. Also what kind of shit should bring for my bike? Im going to get an extra tube but thats all I can think of, oh, and maybe a little extra gas.

I'm going to vote PP. Very neutural (on my bike) and huge confidence at track speeds. For me, any old freakin' doughnut is fine at a street pace.

But, if you're open to a third option, check out the macho rooster tail plumming off that rear Distanzia :teeth

From what I hear both are a good bet :) JP and Mike swear by the PPs and I loved the Contis when I ran them.

As far as what to bring? I don't know...your list looks pretty good. We wont be doing any hardcore mud/dirt riding like last time. I'd say though, if you have spare lever or clutch cable bring that :p The main thing would be to bring anything specialized that your bike might need (ie: to get my wheels off I need 2x14 sockets to pull the sliders off). The stock tool kit is a good place to start :) Oh, and extra undies, possibly extra socks.

Damn, I've only got 2 weeks to get my jetting sorted out :(

Underscore002, I also need tires. I will be going to my friendly local Cycle Gear to get a Pilot Power (rear only). I think they're around $130 or so new, not bad. I've researched it a lot and I've decided, even with the fair amount of dirt us nor-cal'ers do, I will keep Pilot Powers. I don't need to go faster on the dirt than I already do... I crash enough as it is.

Ahhh, what a great way to start the weekend! Went for a morning cruise with Garret to Cloverdale via back roads one of them being Geysers road (only one I can remember the name of). After that I'm so ready for the 19th! :thumbup

So I get to my friendly local Cycle Gear and some one with the name JP has already bought the last 150-60-17 PP :laughing . Figures. Anyways I have a set on order, I cant wait to try these out.
