No M1 necessary.

By California Vehicle Code definition, it's a motorcycle.
400. (a) A "motorcycle" is a motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider, designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground. A motor vehicle that has four wheels in contact with the ground, two of which are a functional part of a sidecar, is a motorcycle if the vehicle otherwise comes within the definition of subdivision (a).

yep; recall when they came out, & a disabled bud (leg amputee) got one & it's classified as a bike. He loves it...Just as I thought.![]()
I think they complaint about the scooters was that those effers will encroach your space and park on top of you, given the opportunity.

Then why don't you need an M1 to ride them?

Looks like it would be comfortable on the highway.
If i was rich it would be number 27 on my list of must have motorcycles.
I hear ya. Actually, it really is a comfortable highway ride and is kind of a blast to operate. But it is not going to set the world on fire with it's performance and it doesn't leeeeeaaan, so I like the FA much better! Still, it's a fun and different riding experience. Not so much definition as it is "if the shoe fits". In this case the shoe is a parking spot. Which it clearly doesn't.
The benefit of moto parking is that 2-3 can fit in a standard car spot. If your "motorcycle" takes up 2-3 of those spots, you need a fucking car spot.
