Until tort law is fixed, parking lots and private streets should stay free of hooliganism, sorry. Next thing you know, some guy pulls a Darwin and the estate sues for 'neglecting to kick the guy out'.
there are times when a cop has every right to write a ticket for this situation...then there are times when cops are on power trip robotic auto mode and would still write you a ticket, even up in the hills in an empty parking lot with nobody else around.

If you deny that any cop ever takes any action based on power and not judgment, you're delusional. I hear you guys saying that cops are just humans like everybody else, but then somehow you're immune to getting drunk on power.
I'm not saying all cops are like that. But you CAN'T deny that some are.
Wasn't trying to impress anyone. His point was old and tired. Just tired of reading it here.LOL, that the wittiest thing I read, your Literary powers are amazing! Way to refute his point.

Be unimpressed with *ME*. My comments are mine alone.

Go to Hollister, pay $5, and slide and jump around all you want on the tracks.

it's FAR too much of a pain for the OP to do the right and easy thing, when there are SO many open parking lots around..![]()

Alright, now I'm just laughing. Let's move on.
Crank1000, I'm not a LEO but what strike me that you're failing to grasp (but I may have missed it) is that the empty parking lot belongs to some entity (whether it's a person or corporation, etc). Now, I have a big backyard with alley access. If I left that open and came back with somebody riding around in it (ok, it's not that big, but pretend it is) I would be upset. And, if my neighbors saw it happening I would hope they would call the cops. Or, if I came how and saw it happening, I would call the cops. And that trespasser should expect words with me before the cops show up.
How is that different than a parking lot? You can argue all kinds of ways you want, but the end result is - it isn't.
If you want to ride around in a parking lot without getting in trouble, ask permission. You're probably going to get a lot of no's before you ever hear 'ok'. Or, you can buy your own.
Somewere back there someone also made a comment about cops being able to pull you over anytime for whatever. Well, if you're doing something wrong... then you're doing something wrong. Whether you're only doing 5mph over in a 65 or 100+, it doesn't matter. Both are breaking the law. One just costs more. If you can't man up and take responsibilty for your actions, you can always take the bus.
Everytime I speed or the front wheel comes up or what not, I am responsible for it. Either I did it on purpose (with the illustion of control) and I own up to it if I get pulled over. Or I wasn't in control, which is far worse, because then my lack of control puts not only myself but others and danger - and if I get pulled over I take resposibility for riding outside my skill set. Either way, I'm a reasonable adult and realize there are rules. If I break the rules, intentionally or not, and get caught doing it, I know there are reprecussions for it. I don't throw a tantrum and yell at the cop because he is giving me for my speeding.
My parents taught me better than that.
. At this point, I'm defending a point that was made earlier about cops that get drunk on power, which was followed up with a cop rolling his eyes and tuning it out. That kind of shit I can't stand. A badge doesn't make you right, usually it just makes you an asshole.
