@thePUNISHER, what a beautiful shot, Keith! I've always wondered, is the Hyperstrada just Hypermotard with more "touring capability"? But then I thought that's what the Multistrada is marketed as? Can you help enlighten me:laughing

It was supposed to be an attempt at making a more touring friendly Hyper. However with it's limited range I wouldn't really agree lol. I get 110-125 miles before the gas light comes on(normal riding in sport mode). I'm comfortable going another 20-25 before I start to get nervous and stop for gas. I have a feeling I could put it in touring mode and be a little more gentle with the throttle and probably extend that another 20 miles or so.

I do love the bike and the panniers sure do come in handy! But, again, I wouldn't really call it a touring bike :dunno

The road in from Jordan Valley, Oregon, to Owyhee Canyon. Total dirt was about 60 miles. Total trip about 250.

You are braver than me. When the moto slid veritcally a few times on the ice and somewhat managed to control it, I turned back.

Tadah! That is literally the best twisty road I had ever ridden on. NC was like biker country, cars actually pull over and let your pass. I wish I had a more streety bike or supermoto tires, those knobbies were all over the place. After I rode the first section of the TAT and the first section is just as windy I called it Tail of the Dirt Dragon!

If you do make it over to Deals Gap can you find me one of these Dragon stickers? I got it at one of the souvenir shops and have since changed my front fender out.

This here is the Cherohala skyway

Nice I didn't get to ride Cherohala Skyway unfortunately I snapped that picture before I hopped back onto the TAT which parallels Cherohala Skyway. I've never seen an epic road sign like that before!

But yes TOTD is awesome if anyone is in the area rent a bike and ride it. I've ridden many twisty roads in California and NONE can compare to Tail of the Dragon.

TN, NC, GA, VA have the best twisties in the country in terms of quality as well. I miss those smoothly paved and well maintained roads unlike our crappy, chip seal, broken, pothole ridden, washed out ones.... Been to the Dragon 3 times. Cherohala Skyway, NC24 and a few others are my favorites

Braved it out in the winds to take a scoot on some new shoes for the trusty steed... Conti's! :ride

When we were in high school there was no fence on this spot, no grapevines, just an open space filled with dirt, and when you kicked up a little dirt nobody seemed to mind. It was a huge meeting place to find out where the parties were, socialize, etc... but then in the early 80's the fence went up... then the vines were planted... and Carmel Valley's descent into "wine country" was duly noted, and it hasn't stopped. :( :laughing
