Far side of the town of La Porte. I rode up to the washout on 162 on Easter Sunday and didn't see a speck of snow(I'm sure there's lots of snow higher up), to Elk Creek yesterday, saw mid 90's on the way home. Expected to see patches of show but nothing like this.

Tried to go up last year and today, still haven't made it past La Porte. But if I was headed up this way to ride in that area I'd pick 162 Oroville to Quincy over La Porte road. Fun road but 162 is great!
 
Riding along on the Oregon Trail. You can actually ride on some parts of the original trail and this is one of those sections.

Headed up 70 today. Sign said caution fire damage next 20 miles! Ended up turning around due to traffic and road work and headed over Cherokee.

Stopped at the honda shop on the way home, some dude wrecked his VStrom 1000 out front. Front wheel wouldn't turn and fluids leaking. We kinda shimmied the bike sideways off the road. The dude in the car he hit helped us and said he went down last week.

The bad news, he had road rash on his hand. The good news, his gloves were undamaged as they were in his backpack!
