Local group ride. The plan: Ride Boise Ridge Rd from north to south.

Here we are on the north end, ready to head up the road.

Less than a mile later.

Fine, we'll go down the other side and try a road or two coming up from the east. This is
Pine Creek Rd. Absolutely beautiful day.

After squeezing through several snow patches, we decided it was time to turn around. We
probably could have made it through this one - maybe.

To traverse a snow patch, just get in the groove and use your feet to help stay upright.

The goal - to see if I can get to the top of Thorn Creek Butte, above Lucky Peak Reservoir.

Some nice wild flowers on the way up.

Just about there. Great view of the mountains to the west.

This looks like maybe a motorcycle could make it through on the edge. Better to check it out before getting stuck further on where it would be extremely difficult to turn around.

Nope. A motorcycle isn't getting through this section.

Stopped for lunch with a nice view.

Essential maiden voyage after new...pistons, crank, head work, transmission bearings, clutch/basket, sprockets, chain, fork rebuild, PC frame and other parts, and many little upgrades (saggy rear waiting for rebuilt fox shock).

I was going to go out for just a very short spin but…It ran really good.
