Today's goal: Visit the Owyhee mountains - Silver City, Bachman Grade, Oreana
Reality: One dead bike = do the Silver City stuff twice, leave the rider

At the meeting place about to head out for the next big adventure.

Near the summit of Silver City Rd. The pine trees are only at the top.

This is what happens after you get a bit of rain (a few days ago). The road from Silver City headed toward Oregon has a bunch of potholes that are up to two feet wide, quite a few puddles up to maybe six feet, then these ponds, some of which don't allow you to go around the edge, like this one.

On the far side of Silver City, trying to figure out what's wrong with the BMW F850GS. Electrical problems of some sort that won't allow the instruments to go on, let alone allow the bike to run. This changed our plan. We left the bike, rode until we were out of the canyon where the satelite device could send texts, arranged a rescue, and left the rider to deal with it. We then headed back the way we came.

Cadillac Angels playing in Jerome, went for the afternoon and dinner.
Douglas Mansion, and Little Daisy headstock.
I wandered a bit, down narrow streets, maybe looking for a home, here.

I 'found" my old bike, sitting three doors down from where I had dinner,
Now I know where the new owner saw it for sale, couple of months ago.
Just like yesterday I parked it in front of the Spirit Room and the Vaquero,
Different bike, but the same plate, too.

Something new for me, weird feelings about old bikes, vs old girlfriends, , ,
Ride them around town, take them on big adventures,
good times, sunny and warm, bad weather, wet and slippery, with a side of "Oh Shit"
Live with them for years, spend money on looks, love them,

I wonder how fond of old girlfriends I could be, if I find them on the street, someday ?
Bat sh*t crazy with multiple personalities, I'll pass, , ,

Great Labor Day to ride despite the 100F on the backside of Hamilton. Did a non stop ride from SJ thru Sierra Rd- Calaveras road - Livermore - Mines -130 to Mt Hamilton. Took a few min break to appreciate the day and opportunity to ride and then completed the ride down to San Jose. IMG_0518.jpeg

New tires were looking a little too clean and I wanted to test out the new windshield (thanks @ThumperX and @Lucytriple for the latter :ride ) Quick little amble about on Labor Day. Got hot and tired so I went home shortly after taking this pic haha.

Any suggestions for scenic spots I should go find in or near SJ? My phone camera isn't the greatest but I'll try.
