New headers and exhaust for the Miata. :D

Comparing OEM headers to new Cobalt headers (CARB legal)

After some time of trying to squeeze the new headers in, success! And yes, new gasket from Moss Miata.

Vid of exhaust:

Said every louder aftermarket exhaust purchaser ever.

But, enjoy
Did it once on a moto; hated it went back to stock.

Did it once on a car because I had to; rusted exhaust.

Sounded great but it was a local job done using a Flowmaster exhaust. 280z.

Headers help. :D Proven by others via dyno runs.

I could swear mine had a little more to it, but the car was already obnoxiously loud stock. But yes a dyno run showed what really mattered. Was shocked to see I picked up something like 80 ft lbs of torque from this.

not sure how close you are to me; I've got a get of Quick Jacks you can borrow next time if needed.
A bit far. I'm up in Sonoma County. I will be getting a set soon though. I'd get a lift in the garage but there is a beam right down the middle (from left to right) that's in the way. It would be nice to put the Miata up for "storage" and put my daily underneath.

How tall is your garage? I'm tempted to sell the QJ's and get a lift, but I've only got 10 feet of height...

You have sent me down a rabbit hole on these QuickJacks...

Any experience on an old, rougher driveway?

I haven't used them outside the concrete garage floor. So long as they're on flat ground, I'd feel comfortable with them. The safety lockouts are good...still I hate crawling under cars...

Thanks! I think no matter what I would still double up safety with some jack stands too, redundancy and all.

My driveway is not sloped, but it's not smooth. There are some small 'dips' I avoid when parking to place the jack/ stands, and I wonder if that unevenness might be a problem since these seem to span a few feet.

Sorry to threadjack. As an act of contrition, I bought this intake hose to get an old car to pass smog.

^^^^^ Nice, had to listen to "it" about 5 times! :p
What gear are you doing your "pulls" at, 4th? Ratio 1:1?
Pretty sure GM’s 8L90 has the 1:1 in 6th. Yes that means I have the slushbox.

Couldn’t tell you what gear the operator did it in. It was probably 4th or 5th.

Getting a bonus at work this year that will put my getting a 2-post lift account over the top, so am now in the process of looking at which one to buy and seeing if its worth the price to have someone install it for me.
