Neat! The googles tells me it's the memorial auditorium. Never been there, but it look cool.
 
Yeah, it’s an interesting place. Great stage facility and the whole floor of the auditorium can be raised and lowered. Several years ago we rebuilt the console and implemented a wireless control system, so the console can be located wherever there is a power outlet.

It’s a very large, historic instrument that doesn’t get much use, unfortunately.
 
It’s the kind of place I keep hoping will draw audiences for non liturgical music but so far it hasn’t. They’ve tried accompanying silent films with organ, which is reportedly popular in some places, but it was lost in this community apparently.

A think I learned in Germany: 4% of the population attends church. 9% of a person’s paycheck goes to supporting and maintaining churches. Doesn’t seem sustainable, though their cathedrals have much more cultural significance than ours do.

I'm sure you have plenty going on, but do you happen to have a pic of the console and maybe underneath the floor?
 
Hey G! I am cozy and warm but that's because I have my heat on. I'll pay at a later date but in this moment it is very snugly.
