Agree there are too many breweries. Depending where you are, we're getting to the point were a brewery is as common as a liquor store. There's a brewery about 10 miles from my home called GameCraft. They brew all their available beers. On top of that they have a shit ton of board and card games to play. Video game tournaments. Trivia nights. Nerds and beer has worked out as good business.

The time of opening a brewery/taproom where the only thing you have to offer is beer being a good business decision is kinda over, unless you're the only game in town.
You know in many places around the world there is concept of local brewery. I'd be willing to say there is no such thing as too many breweries. The problem is that they all want to compete on the main stage instead of staying small and focusing on their local clientele. In all reality, you should be able to go down to your local brewery and they know you and they brew something you like.

Happen to know if Anchor Steam is still working on a comeback? I'd read the employees were trying to get an equity partner months ago then went silent.

guy who owns Chiobani yogurt bought

Maybe the far remote owner is finding out it's hard to continue business in San Francisco? Or the workers want too much or something? No idea.

But it's weird that I saw maybe up to a year ago that a Santa Cruz brewery, Humble Sea was happy to announce they're opening a restaurant/taproom on Pier 39 in SF but.... Still not open?!?

Dunno, sounds like it's sold, the parrot sent me a friend request which seems odd...

“The bar is not sold,” Lynn told SFGATE in a phone interview. “David Keene still owns the Toronado. We have a buyer in contract, and we are in the contingency period.”

I suspect the new EssEff Mayor would be delighted to help it get going.

Dunno, sounds like

exactly. It may have sold, to him,

or to a joint-venture by him,

or maybe , slightly maybe to someone else - but they're not saying.

as for the "friend" request, haha maybe he just wants to data-harvest, snoozle-bamboozle the biggest ffriends or whatever. Didn't know you're that connected with them! :D
