Post / Chat whores post here (2025)

Kaiser did a CT and it looked good. Mrs Abacinator told me she had a nice long chat with the attending Dr, so hopefully we can get on a good treatment plan ASAP. Abby is home now with us for a few days before she goes back to her place. I stepped out for a beer

So my throw back friend I helped buy a new Mazda CX30 insists she want to add a CD player to her car, (no she doesn't have a smart phone0.

Seems nigh impossible to find one that will talk nice with her car either via Bluetooth, (Kliim and Fiio did not work), or the Posspo Jupiter via USBB, (she is bringing that one down today for me to troubleshoot but I doubt it will work if the car rejected it already).

My wife and I use old iPods in the car and burn lossless to them, but she refuses to do that; "I want to hold my CDs, so no iPod."

I will convince her to at least use the 2 damned USB ports in her car with flash drives with AAC files burned onto it as that is the only format I can get to show titles etc. on her USB drive. Flash drive can't be larger than 32gb (which is plenty) and has to be formatted to a format called FAT32 but that's no biggie.

I'll tell her to put her CDs in the damned center console, use the USB, and if she needs to clutch a CD for some insane reason have at it.

Anyone found a portable car cd solution that actually works via USB or Bluetooth?

Her car does not have an AUX in miniplug port unfortunately.

Damn time change . Woke up too early ,must be some uncomfortableness reason

Sorry to hear about the cds
Too early to think about how to add them to the premium Mazda….

Holy shit…

There are head unit options for the CX30. Crutchfield (and others) have them available.
That's probably the easiest way to incorperate a CD player for your friend.

Indeed, but she is looking for a portable solution.

She's not going to find it is my current conclusion.

Mazda might have an aux retrofit available. Tell your friend to join the rest of us in the 21st century and dump her legacy media :laughing
For some weird reason, cassettes are making a comeback. Makes no sense

Portable Bluetooth cd player, actually. Probably exists,

Ofc it may have to be powered by 12, 20, or 110v..

Cassettes are great if you like sibilance and the cassette ribbon getting snarled in the player lol

She wants to play her existing CDs.

The obvious modern solution for someone without a smartphone is USB given the situation.

I have offered to do all the work for her of course but she is so stubborn she'll likely ending up listening to FM on her very nice Bose sound system in her car.

Bose makes crap for home audio but curiously decent stuff for cars.

They used to make decent home audio speakers, but no more.

Haven't touched a single one damn these clocks

Oh and one of mine citizen titanium gets radio so it's correct... Also clocked the one of the car 🚗
