I believe it's so that the home owners generator disconnects from the grid instead of feeding juice back into the grid which has been problematic..
Exactly. So the generator is isolated when the power comes back on and everything doesn't go boom.

ty for all of the information.
Out here in West Sacramento, there are a great deal of blackouts during the storming months. I will check out the options.
The reason I push for that HF 5000 is because it is a dual fuel with remote start. Gas cannot be allowed to sit as it causes issues; however, if you start and run the unit once a month for about an hour it keeps things from turning into a problem.

Finally got around to making coffee, the rain is making me lazy, but also, I don't have to work untill 3:45 in the afternoon sooooo

if it's a hobby you can use as a tax write off then maybe it'd be fun and if you're retired you can keep it low key.

It is pouring outside again. Fingers, toes and eyeballs crossed that the power grid holds.

the other day I did an evening walk in the dark . It was cold, maybe 55. Was wondering what flashlight to buy for walking ,,, well I do have 1 or 2 already but: 1 is "too heavy" (at 4 oz 🙄) the other one is "too attached... to my keys."

(Does this one seem fun? Oclip Ultra

What did surprise me however to see (moreso hear) a woman, walking a toddler. Making loops on the blocks, in the dark. Talking to the toddler and such... in Russian... walking them around...
