I loved building a team up from scratch.

I hated fixing a broken team who already were burned out.
When I came to California, did not want to work for my father in law.

The sisters were to run the company.

Then I calculated the turnover.

It was 450 percent.

Oh crap.

When we sold it was 50 percent which for a restaurant group was way below average.

Management turnover was essentially zero.

That is impressive! I once managed a team with almost zero attrition for a few years while the attrition for comparable teams / companies was >25% a year! But I cheated as I was fortunate enough to have a direct line to the board. So I negotiated significantly above market salaries for my entire team along with keeping my teams insulated from bs / politics.

a look that doesn't look well on me. But my anxiety gets the best of me and the whole fight, flight or freeze comes into play.

Button pushing is a trait of bad managers. If a manager knows your insecurities (in your case tech) and uses that to intimidate rather than work to get you training or whatever they are a bad manager/supervisor.

We have done work with Cheesecake Factory through my day job. Their employees seem to stick around FOREVER. It seems like they hire for culture because people are universally incredibly pleasant to work with.

@Melissa the manager sounds like they need some therapy. They should be offering help.

thanks. I wish I could retire early.
I believe I have said that before. Aplologies for being so repetitive.
I have bitched about my job here for like 15 years. You're all good.

Are we not supposed to be repetitive because I don't really feel like anything new has happened to me since the twinz.

I wake up, I deal with bodily fluids not my own, I try to be patient, and I try not to hate myself when I fail.

I'm jealous of everybody sitting in 🛑 n go traffic with their head down towards their lap.

They're either scrolling Instagram, for counting their beanies. What else can they be messaging so much about?

Man, I want to do that too

I know that I get totally defensive when in the meeting w/my supervisor.
That would look very bad on your manager, at least for someone looking from outside. Psychological safety should be a basic thing that a manager should build in the team IMO. For the teams I managed, I tried to be the first or second person for the team to come to when shit hits the fan. Its hard to build that culture but once it works, its fantastic for everyone involved!

FML. I think a client thinks I have a crush on them because I was friendly and polite. Good thing my picture frames are arriving shortly. I'm gonna cram them full of @N4teTheGreat and be like, "OH this guy is REALLY jealous and mean and tall." :laughing

as they say, shit runs down hill. His manager is stressed so my supervisor is stressed. Now I am stressed.
But it will all be forgotten in a few years. I wish I did not give the situation so much power.

Unless the drain is stuck in the Middle

In that case it overflows up ...

---

Shit. I get home and somebody has capsized a bike, and someone is doing two loads of laundry and the main vent hole drain in the basement has overflowed, it has three feet of a spot of blotches and white paper on the cement..fuuuuuu......

:rolleyes
