The buy an E-Bike for my kid thread has me thinking I am not really a great influence on all things parenting and about as far from a helicopter parent as you can get. :laughing

It must be a miracle that my kids are still alive. :teeth
Right there with you. :thumbup
For better or worse, I was definitely a free-range, cage-free parent... "Have fun... Try not to kill yourself" :laughing

The earliest part of my life was in Woodland Hills. I remember a kid Doug Glass, he got a mini bike for his birthday. My big sister, 10 at the time, developed a serious crush on that older boy. Doug was maybe 14, OMG he would run that mini bike full throttle all over that hill. Sometimes there'd be a big uprising of dust and shortly after there'd be Doug, bloody, torn and soiled, pushing that bent up thing back down to his house. Doug was always grinning. I remember one limb or another was always in a cast. Wonder what ever happened to him.

Koidaughter was hitting the TV so she got sent to her room.

She's has until this beer is empty as punishment.

Koitney's furlough week project list has been started.

- Raise TV
- Childproof outlets better than the ones they have destroyed.
- Ride motorcycle

My poor Mom had to deal with me. :laughing

First broken arm at 5 climbing fences to getting knocked out cold and having amnesia at 17 with a bunch of stuff in between. A few mostly calm years in college. She was probably happy when I moved out. :teeth

Most of my injuries were mountain bike related and generally just involved stitches. Broke my ankle a few times doing dumb stuff with friends (aka trying to use a mini trampoline to dunk a basketball, it worked, the landing didn't). Broke my hand once punching a box I thought was empty. Shattered my radius in a rather epic yard sale resulting from a failed attempt to pass my buddy on a downhill trail at winter park, turns out the 2 foot rut overgrown by grass was the reason no one took that line... we'll see how long it takes for this new mountain bike to result in some ER time.

Had breakfast with the leader of the pack when it comes to Grandkids breaking bones yesterday. Delilah is 9 and has broken her left arm twice (upper and lower) and left collarbone.

I mentioned that I did the same exact thing, but I was 16 by the time I accomplished that. I asked her if she is looking to break family records as I have had ten??

Mom said please no...!!! :laughing

Been there. Too many broken bones to count (and I can feel them all now.)
But the many concussions are concerning... I worry about what may be going on inside my noggin.

Heavy into the concussion train too. At least a dozen.
Worrisome that I might slide into OG mental issues.

I am counting on riding to keep those away since it is such an amazing brain exercise.

Amazingly no broken bones here.

Maybe three concussions in 70 years?

Way more concussions.

Only broken bone was in my hand and I fixed it myself after getting advice around a bonfire in the woods about how to properly use a Bible.

Same guy saved a Jack Russell after a rattlesnake bite with jumper cables and a D9 so I kind of trusted him.

Well I guess the vertebrae were fractured as well but I don't know how I did that.

I've done a lot of stupid shit, but bounce remarkably well.

these are all epic broken bones , so I won't post what happened when I was 15.5 / 16 years old when the bike broke and even though I didn't have a broken bone it could've been fatal and landed in the ER and 1+ week(?) hospital stay (hospitals... were, cheaper, back then. )

Just checked my bike -
phew, the replaced pedal didn't strip the thread. I took it off and on again. :nerd

Same. I had two in like two weeks. One I fell out of a rope swing in my front yard. The other was a couple of weeks later and I jumped my BMX so high I hit a branch. Woke up with a mouth full of beauty bark. Have no idea how long I was out.
